I've been looking at the deck plan of the Eurodam, but I cannot find where the ship's doctor's office is located. Does anyone know? I will have to store my insulin in the doctor's refridgerator and trying to find out where it is in relation to room VD4140.
Thanks!

I believe it is towards the bow on the deck below Main deck. The map you get when you check in should have the exact location

Have you done this before? The reason I ask is because they seem to have such limited hours. Not sure how many times a day you would need it.

1. calling Holland America (located in Seattle Washington USA)
2. going to guest relations as soon as you board the ship
3. looking at the deck plans of the ship located in several places on each deck once you board
and/or
4. post this question on the Holland America board.
It really won't be a problem to find this information out once you board. You don't need to worry about it. Alo, you can store the insulin in the refrigerator in your cabin--ask the room attendant empty out the refrigerator for you.
You can also ask for a sharps container from the room attendant or housekeeping if you need one.
Happy cruising.

The fridge in the room is not that cold. The OP might need to rent a "real" one.

When my dad traveled to Europe two years ago, he used a type of insulin that did not need to be refrigerated. I see ads on TV for it as well. this might be a better solution than the limited hours of the ships doctor.

I visited down there in May and if I remember correctly it was forward on A deck where the tenders often leave from. The doctor is usually in for an hour each morning and an hr each evening( the hours are published each day in the daily program) but it is also staffed by nurses who are very helpful, hand out some free meds like Tylenol and Sea sick pills and they have not bad prices on other over the counter meds like Advil, Tums etc. I am sure however, a visit with the doctor or prescription meds would be significantly more. My friend that I was travelling with became ill the first night and asked me to call the physician at 2 a.m.-a medic or nurse called us back and advised us by phone and there was no charge. If the doctor had to come to the cabin or my friend had seen the doctor in the medical facility downstairs she would have been charged.

I was just looking over me recent Explorer Daily program.
Now this can vary by ship.
The medical center was open from 8 AM - 12 Noon and 2 PM - 6 PM.
The doctor was available from 8 AM - 9 AM and 5 PM - 6 PM.

The infirmary on the Eurodam is on Deck A (below Main deck) and if I remember correctly it is reached vie the midships set of stairs by the Atrium.

It's reached via the forward staircase/elevator bank, only.
When you get to A-Deck, take a glance around. You can't go too far in any direction, but the "Infirmary" sign is visible.

All the ships that we have been on -- we had to use the forward stairs / elevators to get there.
I end up there at least once on each cruise the last 3 years.

I may very well be wrong. :) I should have a better memory about it since I visited the same doctor - a year apart - on the Zuiderdam and Eurodam for the same issue (ears and scuba diving).

Those are pretty much the standard hours on all the ships. The doctor is always reachable by phone but only scheduled for office hours, just those two hours daily.
I think all of the passengers doctors are licensed in either U.S. or Canada.

Take the forward elevators to the A Deck. Once you get there start to walk as if you are going to mid-ship. You can't miss it as it is clearly marked.

I have my room steward keep the ice bucket filled and the insulin goes in there

I don't know about Eurodam, but assume that it is similar in layout to Oosterdam. We used the onboard infirmary a week ago on Oosterdam, and it is located on Deck A, which is one deck below the Main Deck (Deck 1). The access to it is from the forward stairwell/elevators only. It does not operate continuously so check with the front desk for hours of operation.

You have to use the forward elevator - no access from midship. I had to ask, as I had tried to access from midship and was told (correctly) that you can only access the medical facility from the forward elevator - didn't try the stairs!
