MS Zuiderdam and Statendam are late sailing out of Port Everglades tonight. Maybe a busy day of Coast Guard or Public Health inspections?

We watched web cam on one computer while I was looking up ship facts on the laptop. Yep, we're addicted!

They are both headed to the Panama Canal--The Statendam all the way through and the Zuiderdam will anchor in Gatun Laka and then come out. I will not be hitting the canal this year and will not sail until the last days of January. That is fifteen weeks from this Sunday but who is counting?

The webcam is amazing in Fort Lauderdale. I'm going to have to remember to watch it again.

I try to watch friday and Saturday for the sailaway and 4 horn signal, today was especially good with both ships leaving. Thought the Statendam only sounded once, still sounded good.

Well, I'm counting! We sail out of Fort Lauderdale twelve weeks from today! Can't wait!!! The webcam just makes me look forward to it more!

Such a shame that we're going to miss winter in Illinois this year! :D

Thanks for all the postings, we thought we were the only ones that are addicted. We also have our computer on and laptop, with the volume up on high. Just love the sound of that horn.

It's even better watching them live from the 17th street bridge in Fort Lauderdale and that is what I will be doing in January and February. the only thing better than watching live would be to be on one of the ships, but alas, that won't happen until August in Seattle.

We are heading to FLL two days before our cruise next month, and each night we'll have a drink at the mouth of the harbor (on the rocks) as the ships sail away.

Between Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we'll see every ship we've ever sailed on but one (the Solstice). We are pretty excited!

I'd agree with you on that one. Thank goodness I'll be getting out of Calgary for a week in Feb. I can't even stand the thought of the last 3 winters we've had. Don't make me do it again this year....please:D:eek:.

Just curious. How did you hear about the late flight arrivals? Friends on board?

The Port Everglades Webcam mentioned that one of the ships called on the VHF Radio, asking for a status on the 16 passengers... I wrote "apparently" because it wasn't clear if that was the reason... but likely...

I follow the Webcam on Facebook... further addiction... help me?:(

Thanks for the reply..this cruise addict is retiring for the evening. It sounds like many of us need a "DAM" cruise!

What is it about watching cruise ships sailing away? (OK arriving is just usually to early in the day!)

Last Saturday we were in Red Hook, Brooklyn and I got to see the Carnival Glory, Norwegian Jewel, Caribbean Princess and Explorer of the Seas leave. The Caribbean Princess was real close.

120 days before we get on a dam ship again. :(

I'm sure you're very anxious for the Statendam to arrive in San Diego! Enjoy your cruise!

Sounds like we are not the only ones who suffer from Hal Cruisitis Syndrome. Ten days of rehab on any "Dam" ship should help; at least for a little while.;)

Hey Mates, Happy to hear that your rehab will soon start. It's always more about the great friends you acquire and not just the Dam ship. Smooth sailing until we meet again.
