Prayers for Race Driver's Family

I ask a prayer from everyone for the family and friends of Indy Race Car Driver, and very good friend of ours, Dan Wheldon.

Dan was killed in todays race ay Las Vegas Motor Speedway and I feel as if I have lost a brother.

Please pray for his family and all of his friends.

I know it is not Cruise related, but he was a good friend.

We love you Dan!!

I remember when Dan first came to the Indy Racing League and proved himself such a worthy young man and an excellent driver.

He was so full of life and his energy was just so contagious:)

For those that are not aware, the IRL in my nickname does not stand for In Real Life, it stands for Indy Racing League as my husband, Crew-News and I were with the Indy Racing League from 1996 until the mid 2005.

I've met most of the drivers and there are a few who just stand out as special people. Dan Wheldon was one of those special people.

I think you all in advance for the prayers for his family and friends. They will need them as the days go by and the reality of his horrific death hits them, and us. We watched it in horror and yet prayed he'd walk away...Sadly...

Please add my prayers and heartfelt thoughts to you and to Dan's family. It is so sad. Playing amazing grace while the drivers drove 3 abreast shows how respected Dan was. He had a feel for the car and the tracks and was an excellent test and race driver

It was a very sad day in racing today. Though many safety features have been added over the years it is still a dangerous sport. Dan loved to race and very few of us get to do something we really love and adore. God bless and prayers for his family and fans.

Yes, it is a sad day for racing. My husband used to work in IRL also, and although he didn't know Dan personally, was terribly shaking by the tragedy. It was sad seeing the other drivers during the tribute laps. My thoughts are with all those who were close to Dan.

As an IRL fan myself, I can say that Dan will be missed. I will always remember his smile, especially after this years Indy 500.
