Just wondering if anyone did the Irish Festival Cruise this past January (2005) on the Costa Atlantica, and if so how was it?
Planning on going this coming February (2006) on the Magica.

I did. However, it was on the Mediterraenea last year, 1/30-2/06. We had a great time. Andy Clooney is great and there were many performances poolside. Even those passengers not part of the group seemed to enjoy the music and dancing.

It says on their website several times that you must book through them to participate. I mean really, it makes sense....they ARE paying the performers after all.

You won't be able to attend the theater shows if you aren't part of the festival cruise, but you will be able to attend those shows conducted poolside. And there were a good number of poolside shows. My in-laws were part of the festival cruise, we booked ourselves and weren't part-We were quite happy with the amount of Irish music and dancing we were able to see and hear.

The cruise was on the Costa Atlantica in January and there were no poolside performances. All shows were in lounges and private.

Well, my cruise was Jan 30-Feb 6 2005, on the Mediterreanea-Andy Clooney Irish Festival Cruise. All shows were NOT private-some were performed poolside.
