View Full Version : Excursionless port our cruise only

Our 14 day Dec. Hawaiian cruise includes Lahaina. The rest of this year's Hawaiian cruises have excursions in Lahaina. Ours does not. Another passenger and I have both called shore excursions and have both been told our Lahaina excursions won't be posted for several weeks due to a glitch in uploading the information. That doesn't make sense. Should I be concerned that this may indicate an itinerary change?

Maybe -- maybe not.
Hard to tell.
One cruise we didn't get the excursions until about 10 days before we sailed as HAL was still working with vendors as it was a port that HAL rarely stopped at.
Call again tomorrow and see what answer you get.
And keep checking HAL's site -- it shouldn't take weeks for HAL to fix their "glitch".

OP here. We are experienced HAL cruisers and know that HAL sometimes is quite late listing excursions for a port or two. That's not the problem. Lahaina is on nearly all itineraries that go to Hawaii and the excursions are set up for Lahaina except for our specific cruise in December. We are there from 7am to 10 pm so it isn't a problem of short port time. This doesn't make sense to me unless HAL is considering an itinerary change.

The best excursion we took last March at Lahaina was not with HAL. We took a terrific whale watching excursion with the Pacific Whale Foundation (www.pacificwhale.org (http://www.pacificwhale.org)). It lasted about 2 hours and cost $28. They are on the first pier next to the dock you will tender to. We booked online and picked up our tickets in Lahaina. We were fortunate to see many whales and quite a few breachings.

The Facebook thread for this cruise had the note that HAL told her that it will be posted Nov 14. Seems very strange.

I've seen that and had also called HAL and gotten a similar response in terms of when and the loading it into the program glitch.
