Well, I thought I'd try and see if anyone was coming along with me and my DH.

We did the Spirit last fall and LOVED it (except for that confusion regarding vegetarianism) and we are now booked for this voyage 5211A and even booked the same cabin :) Can't wait!!!

Anyone interested in sharing a private helicopter tour of the Amalfi Coast? It takes 4 people, half hour tour, drops us off in Capri where we make our way back to Sorrento via ferry on our own. Tour is around half an hour long and costs $1150 Euro's for the entire helicopter. So, your half would be $525 Euro's. Email me if interested at northerncheapo@hotmail.com

Happy Sailing!

Happy Sailing! We'll be getting off when you board the Cloud. You will certainly enjoy the helicopter tour of the Amalfi coast - I assume it is on SAM helicopters. We've taken them twice from the Naples airport to Anacapri and enjoyed the trip very much. Since you will be landing at the heliport in Anacapri, take the chair lift up Monte Solaro for a spectacular view all around. Then, if time permits, check out the view from the terrace of the Caesar Augustus hotel, also in Anacapri, before heading down to Capri town. Capri is one of my favorite islands.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the tips, Emtbsam...we're looking forward to all of the cruise but Capri is what I'm looking forward to the most...or maybe Rhodes...no wait, maybe Malta...or maybe...

We spent 9 days hiking all over Capri and didn't see it all. Get away from the crowded tourist spots in Capri town and you will see lovely scenery.

Malta is wonderful -- beautiful churches and great vistas. Rhodes is interesting but my least favorite of the three you mentioned. Sounds like you will have a wonderful itinerary.

We've actually been eyeing that itinerary. It looks terrific. However, my concern is the weather and that it may not be warm enough...i.e., only in the high 60s, low 70s. Any thoughts on that?

It's either that cruise or renting a house in Hawaii....
:)

Capri in May should be wonderful - possibly in the low 80's if you're lucky.

I, too, was under the impression that most of the itinerary would be high 70's-low 80's. For DH and I, that is wonderful weather as we do not like it too hot.

Funny, Herman, we were debatiing between Hawaii and this cruise and chose the cruise (it's our 25th wedding anniversary on May 16th). If you do choose this cruise, I do hope to meet you!

Embtsam, the itinerary is pretty nice...Monaco-DAS-Malta-DAS-Agios Nikolaos (crete)-Rhodes-Bodrum, Turkey-Santorini-DAS-Taormina,Sicily-Sorrento-Portoferraio (elba)-Monaco.

Any opinions about 'must do'. For the most part, we're going to just wander into the towns and enjoy poking around. But, we are open to ideas. Turkey has me baffled as to 'what to do' other than a Turkish Bath? And, most importantly, Portoferraio has me very baffled...that is the actual date of our 25th anniversary and was hoping for something really special to do that day but there doesn't seem to be anything overly exciting...any thoughts?

Thanks so much everyone for any input,

Happy Sailing and Happy Halloween!
