Hi, we sailed in a balcony cabin on the Zuiderdam in 2003 and looking at photos, we had a cupboard above the sofa that you could store things in. We are sailing on the Zuiderdam again and booked a VC cabin and am concerned about storage space. Last cruise was on the Westerdam in a SY which we loved. Still trying to decide whether we should spend some more and upgrade again to the SY. Would appreciate if anyone knows about the VC cabins. I checked the photos posted here and one or two show the cupboard but many balcony cabins show a framed picture on the sofa wall.

Thanks for the information. Does triple mean a sofa bed in the cabin? We will be in 5038 which indicates a pull out sofa. Do you think that means there will be the storage above?

Thanks very much. Good to know there is some extra storage space if we don't upgrade. Decisions, decisions:)

Remember, there are drawers under the sofa and at the end of the bed.

I don't recall drawers under the sofa previously:confused:
Spender Nui, I don't know the size of the balcony on the SY but we had two nice rattan chairs and foot rests, a table and two chairs. It was considerably larger than the regular veranda cabin balconies. We really enjoyed the SY on the Westerdam.

The reason I remember the drawers under the sofa is because we had 3 people in a VA cabin on the Oosterdam (sisiter ship to the Zuiderdam) and when the sofa bed was pulled out it was difficult to get to the drawers!

Maybe the drawers were there and we didn't even know it! Will be sure to check that this time. Seems each vacation, we need more "stuff" to bring. I admire those that can travel for a week or two with just a carry on. I did 5 days with just a carry on one but it was tough. Couldn't imagine doing the same for a cruise.
