Is anyone familiar with the "lower promenade" on the Maasdam? We are in cabin 340--Cat J, which is an interior cabin. We are at the end of the Cat J cabins, ours being next to the launderette. Has anyone been in a cabin next to a launderette? Was it noisy? I was told by Holland that it is locked during the nighttime hours, so I'm hoping any noise won't be a problem. Hopefully, folks will do their laundry during the hours we are away from the cabin.

I think the J's are the larger inside cabin on the Maasdam so that is good. I would not be thrilled to be beside the laundry, not so much for noise as activity. I can confirm they will lock the doors at night, not sure of the time.

We were on the Verandah deck last year and frequented the launderette on that deck...it was very active so as Kirk said, I wouldn't select a stateroom in that location...

From the deck plan, it looks like the door to the launderette is on the other side of the hallway--it is not on the same side as our cabin door.

Personally, I prefer the starboard cabin, but otherwise---I think that's a great spot. Admittedly, my favorite cabin (J-345) does not abut the laundry, so I don't know about noise through the wall, but I get no noise in the passageway.
The washers/dryers will not be against your common wall. That's the wall with the irons and a couple of chairs.
