Has anyone requested a table for two?

DH & I just booked our first DCL cruise on the Wonder in May of 2006. We would LOVE to sit at a table for two. Has anyone had any luck with this?

I'm pretty sure they do not have any tables for 2 in the main dining rooms. At Palo they have them, but I believe the smallest size table in the main rooms is a table for 4.

We requested a table for two when we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. We ended up at a table of ten! They were all nice people, and we enjoyed their company, but it was not a romantic table for two!

We requested a table for two last year on the Wonder. If there are any actual tables for two, I can't remember seeing them. So, to get a table for two, they have to close off a table for four. If the ship is crowded, that is just not going to happen. When you board, check to see where the dining staff is and ask them what kind of table you are assigned to (They will have a list of each person with their age and sex). If it isn't the table for two, you can request that they reassign you. We did not have our table for two, but the dining staff went above and beyond by finding which tables would not have their usual occupants each night so we could be alone. That worked three of the four nights. The last night we ended up having to sit at our originally assigned table with four other people. The possible down side of this is that you will never have the same waiter. For us, since it was such a short cruise, that wasn't a problem since having our alone time was more important to us.

No, the main dining rooms do not have regular tables for two, the smallest table seats four. If the ship is not crowded you might luck out and not have another couple seated with you, but in most instances you would.

As others said, the only place you can DEFINITELY get a table for two is at Palo, the alternative adults-only restaurant.

If it's two of you I would actually recommend requesting a table for six or eight; if you request a table for four and don't really have a lot to talk about with the other couple, it could be a long cruise. ;) Having a larger table gives you the opportunity to meet more people and find those you enjoy dining with.
