I believe Sheila (innlady1) asked how to get to the rocks to see the sailaway from Port Everglades. I took a photo from Google Earth, and created a path from the intersection at the Hyatt Pier 66 - which looks like the best way into the neighborhood. It says it is almost exactly 1-mile from the hotel (.97 miles), so be prepared to walk a bit.

We enjoyed it so, and wanted to pass it along for others to discover.

It's been a few years but in the past I was able to walk through the middle of that neighborhood and found a park right on the sea wall to watch sail away. I was also able to access the sea wall in front of one of the condos.

Did you guys go down there to watch sail aways. I know the neighborhood a little bit because the Church there is St. Sebasitian by the Sea and I have been to Mass there.

We've been there to mass, as well... I love the name of that church!

We walked directly down the beach from the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort. but, yes we watched sailaways there for the past several years. Earlier this month, we watch ships on both Friday and Saturday nights. It was really beautiful. We brought some snacks and a bottle of wine. Many people camped out on the rocks and chairs, and read books on their iPads between ships.

It was really a highlight for us... of course, the only thing better was sailing past it while on our cruise ship!
