Bon Voyage to my father who will be starting his cruise through the Panama Canal, another dream becoming reality. I hope he'll be able to make a few more trips after celebrating his 85 in January.

Wow that is great, Bon Voyage to your father, I hope when I reach that age (9 more years) I am still able to cruise. We might yet make 4 star mariners if I can.

My dad is on the Amsterdam leaving (like now :o) from Long Beach and i was wondering if anyone was aware of a trip log or blogger that would do a daily posting? I can feel his excitement now...!

My father just called from their 1st stop, he's 85, travels with a female companion (I just can't say "girlfriend" at their age! )

They love the cabin (middle ship, lower, inside). The wind was strong in LA, now they are in Puerto Vallarta, quiet there. It was easly for them to find a representative for the shuttle.

They called as they want to use the luggage delivery service on the flight home, which is surprising as my father is very protective of his suitcase. I think it's a rip-off, but maybe it will be easier for him not to roll it?

Oh, well, he sounds happy, what else do I need? I didn't have time to ask how is food, how was meet and greet - he has a pre-paid cell phone, so he made it a very short conversation.

Maybe his companion convinced him to do it ;), they can do that you know.
