Lulu is fine. It's just that during the colder, dry times she suffers from some severe itching so she had to go to the Vet to get a cortisone shot and some anti-biotics for a skin infection that pops up from time-to-time. I'm sure she'll be better soon! I hate so much to put her in the "Cone of Shame" but you have to do something to keep her from chewing herself raw. At least it's the "Comfy Cone" which is much nicer than those hard plastic E-Collars. This is the kind I'm talking about:

A blonde bought two horses, and could never remember which was which. A neighbor suggested that she cut the tail of one horse and that worked great until the other horse got his tail caught in a bush. It tore just right and looked exactly like the other horse's tail and our friend was stuck again.

The neighbor suggested she notch the ear off one horse. That worked fine until the other horse caught his ear on a barbed wire fence. Once again our friend couldn't tell them apart. The neighbor suggested she measure the horses for height. When she did, she was very pleased to find that the white horse was 2 inches taller than the black

Judy - enough babysitting in the "country of
San Francisco!" Last weekend was the celebration of the 'year of the dragon.' 1300 groups did a treasure hunt, and they were all on their computers to find the clues.

Anyway Michael and I are thinking about the Equinox in April. Airfare no problem as we can go anytime and have buddy passes. My thing is if anyone know places to get good last minute rates.

My email is swedish747 at gmail.com

Thanks for the help!!

Thank you all for the birthday greetings. Didn't really do much this year. Worked in the morning and then went home and had dinner with myself. Couldn't help but think about last year's B-Day when I was in St. Kitts during the day and munching at Chops that evening. Oh well...I guess you can't have a birthday like that every year. :p :p :p

Enjoy your Thursday, everybody!!!

Ahoy Freddie....
I was also thinking of your birthday from last year.
That was quite an event that several pirates missed.
I have been watching the weather, and it looks like New Orleans is getting its share of rain.

Has Greg found his way to this thread? I received a very odd email from him. It looked like it went to all the pirates. The only thing in the body of the message was a link that I did not click on. It appears that he has been hacked, and needs to change his password.

Tomorrow is Rodeo Day and the kids have no school.
Its an annual official holiday for St Cloud and Kissimmee. The grandkids are spending the night, and will be with us tomorrow...

Wishing all a great weekend!

I see that Linda Mae and Michael are thinking of sailing on the Equinox.
Have you been recruiting pirates again?

It's interesting that there is no mention of Joe and Donna sailing on the Equinox. Has anyone seen any stowaway posts lately?

No stowing away for us on the Equinox.:( Unfortunately, we will have to wait until December for our next trip unless the airfare drops considerably. I am so tempted to book something before then....but am fighting the urges for now because the air is too high. I will be in Vegas next month 3/28-3/31. If there are any Pirates out there those days, let me know.

Soon an assistant manager approaches and says, 'Sir, the Crisco is in aisle 3.'

The old guy replies, 'Oh, I'm not looking for the cooking stuff. I'm calling my wife. She's in here somewhere'

The clerk is astonished.

'Your wife's name is Crisco?'

The old guy answers, 'Oh no, no, no. I only call her that when we're out in public'

'I see,' said the clerk.

'What do you call her at home?'

'Lard ass.'

A lawyer and two friends, a Rabbi and a Hindu holy man, had car trouble in
the countryside and asked to spend the night with a farmer.

The farmer said, "There might be a problem. You see, I only have room for
two to sleep, one of you must sleep in the barn."

"No problem," spoke the Rabbi. "My people wandered in the desert for forty
years. I am humble enough to sleep in the barn for an evening." With that
he departed to the barn and the others bedded down for the night.

Moments later a knock was heard at the door. The farmer opened the door,
and there stood the Rabbi from the barn. "What's wrong?" asked the farmer.

He replied, "I am grateful to you, but I can't sleep in the barn. There is
a pig in the barn and my faith believes that is an unclean animal."

His Hindu friend agreed to swap places with him. But a few minutes late
the same scene occurs. There is a knock on the door. "What's wrong, now?"
the farmer asked.

The Hindu holy man replies, "I too am grateful for your helping us out, but
there is a cow in the barn and in my country cows are considered sacred. I
can't sleep on holy ground!"

Well, that leaves only the lawyer to make the change. He grumbled and
complained, but went out to the barn. Moments later there was another
knock on the farmer's door. Frustrated and tired, the farmer opened the
door, and there stood the pig and the cow.

Pirates.... Please take a moment to write your contact info on a plain piece of paper and take a photo of it with your cameras (on every memory stick). At least then if you loose it, if it is found by an honest person they will have the info needed to return it to you.

While out one morning in the park, a jogger found a brand
new tennis ball. Seeing no one around that it might belong
to, he slipped it into the pocket of his shorts.

Later, on his way home, he stopped at the pedestrian crossing,
waiting for the lights to change.

A girl standing next to him eyed the large bulge in his shorts.
"What's that?" she asked, her eyes gleaming with lust.

"Tennis ball," came the breathless reply.

"Oh," said the girl sympathetically, "that must be painful. I
had tennis elbow once."

When we both lost our jobs last summer we decided our move to Fla would be sooner than later.

Bad news is that that the market is so bad that our house is coming in at a much lower price that we had thought it would.

I am here....back from Vegas. Had a wonderful time at the convention, took in a show, a few parties, and won a pittance over the 4 days I was there. As far as the cruise....nope....we wont be surprising anyone anytime soon. I bought some new furniture last month and was surprised myself when the taxes were done. Yikes, we owe! We are looking at jumping on a cruise out of NY or Baltimore in early 2013 with my father and his wife. Does anyone know when X is due to open bookings for next spring?

The good news is that a house here in FL will be priced much lower than you think it will too. ;) You couldn't pick a better time to buy down here.

Joe, I had no idea you were gone. Welcome back. BTW... X is already is open for spring 2013.

Just a general observation and comment to everyone..... It's obvious that Cruise Critic is no longer the way this group is communicating. Excuse me if I have no idea what is going on in your lives or you have no idea what's going on in our lives. As much as I care for you all, it's clear we are drifting apart. :(

I'm sure it was a rude awakening to hear about your LI house, and yes...the upside of that is that housing is less in Florida. What area are you looking in? We too have talked about going south towards Florida - I love the idea of no state tax....Connecticut is terrible and it seems that every time we turn around, there's another tax or an increase in something...besides, I made the argument that we could save a bundle on airfare for cruising :D

Steven has interviewed several times and is a candidate for a position in Northern Florida...we should receive word on their final selection next week. If this goes through I'll have to give serious thought as to what to do with my house...2 more homes in a subdivision went on the market last week and they are selling 'dirt cheat'...the newest listing is going for 30% less than what I currently owe :( . Out of 68 homes, 8 are either in foreclosure or on the market and not moving - such a sad situation.

I'll send good thoughts your way .....

Congrats to those looking to move to Florida..I would #1) make sure you have a job, they are scarce as can be..and they don't pay worth a damn.

However if you are fortunate enough to be able to retire then that's all good!
Althought there is no "state" tax you will be banged for your buck in other places..Wait till you start shopping for Homeowners Insurance ! YIKES!!
I wished I had written that manual I wanted to write after I moved to Florida thinking it was gonna be ALOT different than it actually is! Grant you, I came as a worker and plan to do so for life so I didn't thiink I would spend all my time at the beach!

Ginny- I very rarely get a chance to communicate with many these days.
I read posts and if time allows I jump in. I go on facebook about as often as I check here. Today by the Grace of God my boss is out of the office.
He still calls about every 15 minutes..

To quickly catch up, we are extrodinarily busy here..tons of work, no new help. Job security plus you get to go insane..!!
My SO 's Mom fell and broke her shoulder. It took ONE WEEK for her to be able to see an Orthopedic Surgeon. Then another 3 days until the surgery. She is a wonderful and patient woman with a great sense of humor ( lucky for her Dr!) Anyway, I spend all of last weekend in the hospital and am going to visit her tonite at the rehab facility where she will be for probably 3 weeks or so.

In my spare time I go to the gym M,W,F at 5 am and I have Yoga instructions on T, TH evenings. When I have time I ride my Kymco Grand Vista 250 scooter around.

Hope everyone is healthy and happy..and has a cruise booked :)

Aside from that I am very aniously awaiting Sept 23 ..

Actually, I don't know of any other place where Pirates are talking other than on these threads. Yes...there are a few on FB, but not many at all. I know that most people (like they always have in the past) keep in touch through the threads for their cruises. Except for my Freedom Cruise, the omly other places I keep in touch is through this thread or the one for the mini-meet.

You need to keep up with those threads and feel free to post once in a while. Just because you aren't planning on the trip, doesn't mean you can't keep in touch on the thread. Plus...we have these threads and you can always start a new one in the "Pirates of Paradise" forum.

Congrats on the cruise! Of course, I could never get 21 days off in a row for vacation. I'm sure the bosses response would be something like "Sure...have a great time but don't bother coming back." - lol At least I have the mini-meet in May, the September cruise and a beach weekend I have decided to take in June. I got a 2 night, 3 day stay in a one bedroom suite at the Residence Inn in Port Canaveral for less than $80.00 (from one of the bid sites) and then I picked up a certificate for Fishlips where you get $50.00 worth of food for $24.00. Plus, the hotel suite has a full kitchen so I can always save money that way.

I believe that E-Beth said they have an inside cabin booked on Enchantment and will just hope for a price drop so they can upgrade.

Have a great day, everyone!

Freddie, I was shocked when FPL ok'd Ricks vacation time in Dec. I'm not sure if I said anything here but he got a promotion recently so even though he has enough vacation time banked, there were no guarantees he could actually use it. We haven't actually booked the BTB in Dec. yet.... trying to decide if we should book it now or wait until after final pmt. for a price drop. Hey.... sounds like you have some cool plans for this summer. Congrats!

FYI to y'all.... we have the Sept. dates open for vacation but cannot commit yet to a booking for Freedom and definitely not the mini meet in May. We have a commitment to my DD to dog sit while they remodel their house. During the remodel, they are living in a condo that doesn't allow pets. That means I dog sit for them and have no one to dog sit for me until they are back living in their house. Family first.... sorry. This is also why we are not on Equinox right now.

That would have been at Paradise Point in St. Thomas. They have the very BEST Bushwackers. However, the cost of the tramway ($21.00) seems a bit steep to get a drink. Even if they now have a Ferris Wheel at the top.

On Enchantment - we got an inside but the next day it went up a $100. and there are not too many cabins left so I'm happy with it. Anything more than an inside will just be a blessing sent our way. Not expecting anything more than an inside. Just as long as we are on the ship. :D

Freddie - your summer plans sound like fun and you got such a great deal!!! SCORE! If you see any more Fishlips coupons out there, tell us about them, okay. please.

I'm still planning on coming to the mini-meet even though the next weekend is Enchantment. I really need to float in a pool all day and get my drink on.

Well - Kelsey needs my computer to do some homework so I;ve got to go. Be back tomorrow.

E-Beth, I was reading about your plans in Bermuda on the Freedom M&M thread. I feel the need to comment on them although I do not feel comfortable commenting on that thread for a few obvious reasons. You posted that you are planning a horseback riding excursion on your final day in Bermuda that will be close to your time you will need to be back onboard for sailaway. I suggest you tweak your plans so that you take the horseback excursion on the day before you sail from Bermuda because that is an excursion that you are not planning on doing through the ship. Why not take a ship sponsored excursion on that final morning you are in Bermuda when being back onboard before sailaway would be guaranteed?

The great thing about your Bermuda cruise is that you are able to spend several days in the same port which means you can take excursions on your own that time or possible injury would not be a huge issue because you could take them on a day you will remain in port all day and night. I just thought is was odd that you are planning a ship sponsored excursion on a stay in port day and then planning a physically dangerous independant excursion that only leaves you a short timeframe to get back onboard on the day you sail away for home.

I've read too many stories about injuries in your family lately that caused chaos in your life and i'm trying to just steer you to a bit safer way to still have the ability to do an excurison you are interested in while mitigating the chances that it would impact your ability to sailaway if something (god forbid) did happen if one of you were to get injured horseback riding. I'm not trying to scare you, just trying to guide you to a safer way to plan your time in Bermuda.

Some very good points. I will try to re-think our timing. I wish the ship offered a horseback riding tour but they don't at all the whole 3 days. The tour would be from 8-9 so we should be back with plenty of time to spare but if one of us did fall off and needed medical attention, we would be screwed. I don't want any more medical drama in my life right now. Mom is wearing me out.

Thanks for the advice.

Hey Ebeth, although it has been quite some time since I have been to Bermuda I used to go quite regularly. You will love it..it's so beautiful. Hopefully you will get to walk on hte worlds smallest draw bridge..pretty cool! Also take a bus over the St. Georges if you can..it is a super quiant little town. Song of America used to dock there the first evening...super cool sailing in between two huge rock formations! Theere is usually a performance in the square wiht dunking, ect..alot of fun with British influence! Also , don't be afraid to ask a police officer if you can take his picture...they look so cute with shorts and knee socks!
Hamilton is another must see. There are many beautiful beachs to go to as well...Have a greta time, I really with Royal would sail a ship from Florida to Bermuda! I would go in a heartbeat!

Sue, you and Steve will be amazed at the difference of FMB the next time you visit. They just finished a beach renourishment. The sand is snow white and the beach is much wider and beautiful! ;) Enjoy your anniversary cruise!!!

Ginny we were down the in Jan,just after Steve's dad passed away. We were surprised to see the work they had done on the beach. We had booked a eoom for our anniversary but the Monarch price was too good to pass up.

Ahoy Mateys...
Some pirates are back from the Equinox sailing.
The cruise was another great one except for the booking experience with the Future Sales Person.
Anyone who inquired about a new cruise were greeted unprofessionally by this person. Many walked away and did not book with him.

There was no buy one, get one free for the specialty restaurants, but they did offer 20% off upon asking for any specials.
The ship did offer many drink specials. Each day, they offered buy one, get one free drinks at 2-3 bars a few hours before or after dinner time.

We finally did book a new cruise for March 9, 2013 on the Eclipse for a 14 night cruise. Hopefully, some more pirates will be able to get away for this one...
(It's a Happy St Patricks sailing)

Freddie: Thanks for the BGE description... I had no idea!

It's time to prepare for another pirate outing at the pool in four weeks... yeah!

We are still in the laundry mode, and then its back to the doctor and dentist appointments this week.

Happy Tuesday to all......

Yes, we did have a great time again with t' pirates..
Those who were not able to sail were toasted each evening at Happy Hour.
T' pirate who does not cook was in chefs sample heaven!
No one locked them selves out of their cabin.
Roger and Kat's inside cabin was huge!

Everyone had a great time at the balcony party at one of the sail aways... Assorted hors d'oeuvres were served. A white wine was served and mixed with Orange Passion Guava juice from the Oceanview Cafe.

The favorite cruise picture was taken at the Elite breakfast. It was a Bloody Mary with peeps!..... (It was Easter after all)......

We loved the multiple choices for lunch.
For lunch, you could go to the Oceanview Cafe, The Mast Grill on the upper pool deck area, The Bistro on Five, The Solarium Grill, the main dining room or order from room service. etc.....

The grass area on the 15th deck was really nice with nice queen type chairs and small tables for your drinks.
It was a nice place to sit and enjoy the ocean scene or the stars at night. There was also a guitar player/singer on the back Sunset bar on an outside veranda looking at the aft.

A St Patrick's Day cruise is planned for next year on the Eclipse. We heard that Perry Grant has moved over to the Eclipse sailings.

Happy Hump Day to all....

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. It was a wonderful day for us. :D

We had reservations tonight at the Captains Table http://www.thecaptainstable.com/ It was the closest we could get to being on a cruise without actually being on a cruise. ;) The food and service were wonderful. We found out our waiter was from Bali and as the evening wound down and he had time to chat, I couldn't help but ask why he was working here in Port Charlotte. It turns out he was employed as a waiter for Holland America and met an American woman onboard and they got married. He's had an offer to go back to sea and work for Celebrity but his boss at Captains Table really wants him to stay here. I'd give him 5 stars for service so I can understand why his boss is trying so hard to keep him here. It was an unreal evening... almost as though we were at sea. Conversations from nearby tables of excited people that were going to cruise soon also. Of course Rick and I were discussing our future possibilities too. I just wish the food onboard was as good as the food at this restaurant. AMAZING!

I had a great time with Ginny the last several days. We went to a couple of baseball games, and did some shopping. On Saturday evening, we ordered Chinese take out (because dinner plans were left up to me:() We watched movies and killed a couple of bottles of wine. THEN when I had a real good buzz on; Ginny decides to teach me a new board game that I had never played. It was called "Sorry". What I did learn was never try to learn a game after drinking wine especially from an instructor that helped you drink the wine:D:)

For the kids spring break next year they have a Ultimate Southern Caribbean leaving out of Fort Lauderdale on April 5th. that would be perfect for us. E-Beth, there has been a group of Pirates sailing Celebrity's southern caribbean itinerary for the past few years. It' a great experience but unfortunately not many of the Pirates can get that kind of time off work. Equinox had a nice group of Pirates aboard this spring. Constellation hosted some of us on previous spring cruises. Personally, I love Celebrity. Rick and I had our first Ultimate Caribbean cruise on Celebrity in 2002 (Millennium). I knew right away that I had found my home away from home. Royal Caribbean does a nice job, but Celebrity IMHO has made us really feel special at sea. If you ever want to have a special Alaska experience, DEFINITELY go Celebrity. ;)

Sue -that's great that your company is busy. It seems that a lot of travel agency's go out of business with everyone booking their own stuff on the internet. Sounds like your place is doing a great job!

Ginny - we went on Celebrity Mercury to Alaska but that sailing had a couple problems. Our captain of that sailing got caught by the Coast Gaurd as being drunk before we left so he was tossed off and the second in command was forced into taking over. It made for some strange things happening during the trip. He was afraid to go into the Glacier so we sat there and watched all the other ships go in but not us. It was also right after a nurovirus cruise and everything, and I mean everything smelled of bleach. You had to watch wear you put your arms because there was still bleach on rails and stuff. Just one of those crazy trips. We liked it though and would not be afraid to try again. I'm sure it would be a lot better this time.

Wow - I can't believe that Ultimate sailing has been open a year! Gosh, why can't RCI get their stuff together and open the bokings that far out. Now I'm wondering if we would be able to get a good cabin. Actually, I don't care what cabin we got, as long as we are on a ship somewhere. I'll keep my eye on it.
Works perfectly for the kids spring break. A 10 day trip and they would only miss one day of school. Not bad.

Have a great day.

Ports of Call:

Tampa, Florida; Key West, Florida; Cozumel, Mexico; Tampa, Florida

The last Key West cruise on the Jewel is set for April 27th, 2013...
There are no Tampa Jewel cruises listed after that date.

Is the Jewel going to return to Tampa in the fall of 2013? If so, does anyone know when the dates are expected to come out?

Is Royal shuffling the ships around again?

Ahoy Joe...
Tha'ts such good news that your dad will be joining you on the Summit...

We will have to pass on this offer, as we will be sailing on the Eclipse for the 14 nights Southern Caribbean sailing... We are sailing with four other pirates!

Would you be interested in sailing with six pirates? Two other pirates are waiting for a "Roy Rate"......

Happy Hump Day!

Royal Caribbean is to swap ships in Tampa that includes Key West in their itinerary....

The Brilliance of the Seas will follow Jewel's itinerary with the 4 or 5 days cruise alternating Key west with Grand Cayman...

Agree and Agree with both of the above. Think about it this way, we have a history that lends itself to playful banter. Simply put, most newbies just don't "get it". It eventually leads to them dropping off M&M threads or limiting their posts because they don't feel the "love" yet. ;):p Face it, it takes a strong personality to stick around long enough to understand the bond we have and be able to forgive and forget how we sometimes are offensive to each other, even if it is in jest. Go back in history and really think about past M&M threads, comments made by "newbies" about how they don't want to wade through pages of our crap to actually find information sharing about the actual cruise. Then when they ask a question about something cruise related they are often told.... "we already discussed that on page XXX post YYY". Basically what i'm trying to say is that we are often rude when we dominate a M&M thread with banter. I was under the impression that was the reason this thread was started. JMHO

I agree that this should be the main thread that we should use when we wish to just stay in touch with each other. Heck...that's why I had the thread developed in the first place. There is actually a complete thread called "The Pirates of Paradise" which is set up just as if it were its own subject such as "Royal Caribbean Threads" and this thread (Welcome to your new home) is actually a sub-thread of that main one. Same goes with the mini-meet thread. It is a sub-thread of "The Pirates of Paradise". That way, if there are any other trips or events that really don't fit into the sub-thread which is going on, a new thread can always be created be anyone under the main thread of "The Pirates of Paradise". have I confused you yet?

I also totally understand Ginny's statement. In past threads, we have always tried to welcome other people (one reason I always try to do a personal welcome and make them realize that they are now officially pirates). But people do start to feel left out when there are 3 or 4 pages of posts that have nothing to do with the cruise that the thread has been formed from but instead about a different cruise that 4 or 6 people are taking on their own. I have to admit that even I have felt left out sometimes when the thread seems to have been turned over to a small group doing something else instead of posts about the thread's particular cruise.

That's not to say that we can't mention other things because that is simply human nature. But we can try to make the others feel more like part of the thread on the main roll calls rather than intruders in our personal thread.

JMHO of course. Have a good one, all!!!!

Ahoy Mateys...

It's a beautiful sunny breezy day at the Parc...

Karen and Steve are expected today...

Breakfast is over, and we are contemplating the next Mini Pirate meet...

We are brainstorming some mini pirate dates....

Roger has Sun, Mon, and Tues off... We are suggesting a Sat through Tues three nights at the Parc. This way those who work or those who are retired can visit.

Potential Dates:

1. Sat, Aug 11th to Tues, Aug 14th.

2. Sat, Aug 18th to Tues, Aug 21st.

Potential Pirate cruise in Nov, 2013?...

Brilliance out of Tampa & Key West?

Brilliance possible dates? Single or B2B cruise?

1. Nov 18th, Mon.....5 nights....Key West & Cozumel.
1A. Nov 23rd, Sat......4 nights....G. Cayman & Cozumel

2. Nov 14th, Thurs...4 nights.... Cozumel
2A. Nov 18th, Mon.....5 nights.....Key West & Cozumel

The earliest Key West date is Nov 18th, 2013 cruise.
I am throwing out these possible dates to see what you all think... Any suggestions?

Just a quick "hello" here. I can't add anything to the mini meet conversation other than I really like the idea of a cruise meet. At least by May Rick and I will have our lives back and be able to plan things again. Looking forward to Enchantment in PC, that's for sure. Monarch is nice but Enchantment has a LOT more to offer IMHO.

I also like the idea of Brilliance out of Tampa for fall of 2013. Those of us that have time to make it a longer trip can BTB and those that can't get as much time off can sail whichever sailing best fits their schedule. It's been a while since we have been to Key West or Grand Cayman. I'd be in for doing a BTB that had those ports included. Just Cozumel isn't as interesting but we will see how others here vote.

Miss you all.....

I'm thinking time will fly, next weekend Steve and I celebrate a year together as "more than just friends " :D The following weekend is an 80th Birthday party for my Dad..have family coming in and can't wait! Ahoy Mateys...

May, 2013 for an Enchantment mini meet?
Sounds good to us, but we need to research further to make sure its doable.....
Has anyone looked at some dates for May, 2013 yet?

The Brilliance of the Seas sailing Nov 18th, 2013 (Key West & Cozumel) is now open for bookings ... Right now, the rates are less than the other Brilliance sailings on the Grand Cayman cruise out of Tampa.
An inside is three forty nine, an outside is four forty nine, and a balcony is five forty nine...

Any suggestions as to which sailings could be designated as 2013 pirate sailing?

Brilliance out of Tampa possible dates:

Nov 14, 2013 4 nights & Nov 18, 2013 5 nights
or
Nov 18th, 2013 5 nights & Nov 23, 2013 4 nights

These are only possible pirate sailing dates...
There are some that will not be able to make a B2B, but might be able to make one of the two.

Does anyone see anything else for next years pirate cruise?

Karen: It sounds like your plate is full... full of fun that is! ;) Wishing you a happy one year anniversary!

The men are listening to some old cassettes tapes that were recorded anywhere as far back as 30 years or so.
I guess it dates some of us using the old fashion music equipment. We hope to transfer some music to CD's in the future. .. I have disappeared from the music room for a break, and find myself snuggled in a lounge chair with the laptop checking on the rates again!...
What a life!... no, it's midnight snack time!

smoke1951: I keep thinking we have a new pirate amongst us when I see this screen name...
We are watching the storms that are brewing on the Atlantic coast... Stay dry, and be safe!

Ouch Kat! That sounds awful. Hope the Dr.'s can make him feel better.

Like I said before, it's been a while since we've been to Key West so that sounds good. We also like Grand Cayman and Cozumel is ok. I'm sure prices will increase, but that won't get us to deposit on cruises that far in advance anymore. I think the prices will come back in line after final payments are due. Right now we have other priorities with our dollars and deposits on cruises a year and a half away that don't sell that well are not high on the list. :p Hopefully history repeats itself. We got great last minute rates (and a center hump balcony BTB) on Radiance and Jewel out of Tampa the past two years. I'll just pretend that we've booked and share in the planning until then. Meanwhile, Rick and I have a lot to plan for this years cruises. ;)

masterbaker
May 26th, 2012, 11:56 AM
Just to add a little info to my above post...

Jewel's prices for our E-1 center hump balcony ended up being 359pp and 349pp before any discounts, taxes ect. (5 night and 4 night BTB), Big price drops happened within the final 30 days prior to sailing.

Radiance the year before (5 nights) ended up being 239pp before discounts, taxes ect. booked two weeks prior to sailing.

These are actual rates from my invoices. These sailings do not historically sell well. Be aware. The prices we sailed in balcony staterooms are the prices currently being quoted for insides on Brilliance, the sister to both these ships. I know you all like to plan ahead but keep this in mind.

Ginny......I understand what you are saying. That is why we will be doing a B2B but we will wait until the last minute to book Nov. 23. I am aware that we will not get the same cabin as the week of Nov.18 but Roy has promised HE will do the cabin change over. LOL
