We will be taking the Mar 1, 2006 cruise out of Rio and will be very interested to hear about this leg of our cruise, in particular the arrangements you make for shore extursions and also how people handle evening/dinner dress in this tropical area. We like to dress for dinner, but don't want to be out of place.

Enjoy your cruise.

If any one reading this has done this leg and would like to give us your thoughts we would appreicate it.

Regards
SVLRobert

We cruised this year from BA to Rio and loved it..dress is the same on Oceania on all cruises..if you would go out to a restaurant in what you are wearing..you are perfect for dinner in the main 3 restaurants..for the buffet at Tapas..it is a lot more caual even shorts are OK...

I would call your travel agent asap..she/he should certainly be able to get you the best deal Oceania is promoting..go to the Yahoo Board there is an advertisement for a new promotion that just came out for that date and it is a great price..with amenities

thank you for your help, went and saw my travel agent and she sent a email off to the wholesaler of our cruise and this is want the reply was
In regards to promotions that may come out - it is on a case by case basis - but we have had cases where Oceania did consider it as a cancellation & charged fees to rebook. Due to the popularity of these cruises - they never have problems filling them so it is unlikely a discounted rate will come out anyway. "

dont know if there is any more i can do about it.open to any suggestions you might have.
and thank you again for all your help

I am not sure how Australia works did you book this with a local agent??..Is the travel agent working directly with the cruise line ?..I am not sure where a wholesaler comes in..the wholesaler definitely has not contacted Oceania..
This might be better talked about in an email..dont hesitate to write *****************

HI all,

We were on Oceania from Buenos Aires to Rio this past Feb.

If you're looking for private guides, I can highly recommend a few if you'd like.

For Buenos Aires, there are two we used and highly recommend:

www.WowArgentina.com Cintia is owner and guide

www.Privatetours.com.ar Carlos is owner & guide

In Rio, we used Carlos' partner, Pedro (aka Peter) and he's wonderful.

DO NOT miss a tango show in BA or a samba show in Rio!
