Just trying to figure out the noise level of those cabins under the casinos. My kids cabins are under the slot machines. We are going on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Has anyone had a cabin under the Casino (slot machines)? How was it?

WE have never had a room under the casino, but we had friends who did have such a room. They were not happy at the noise that seemed to go most of the night. Granted this was on a RCCL ship (younger crowd that may have been up later) and some time ago. The ship was the Rhapsody. I don't know if the use of electronic slots now would also limit the noise. At that time it was all mechanical slot machines in the casino.

I had a room once under the entrance to the casino. Never heard a thing from it. There are DVD players in the rooms, perhaps you could put in a music DVD and play it as background manking noise.

from what I hear...HAL ships quiet down quite early.....and how much noise does a casino make....compared to a late night disco..which doesn't seem to be on HAL either?????

Although I have never had a stateroom beneath the Casino, I wouldn't imagine that there would be any significant "noise", as the Casino floor is carpeted, so it would serve as a sort of "sound barrier"! :) Now, if you want to avoid the possibility of any noise, you would not want to book any stateroom beneath the Galley/Kitchen!:D:p
