The HAL website states that duvets are part of the suite amenities
http://hollandamerica.com/onboard/accommodations.do
New suite amenities** include the following enhancements:
Luxurious duvets
Fully stocked no-host mini bars
VCR or DVD players and access to movie library
Personalized stationery
24-hour concierge
I had thought that duvets were in all cabin catagories. Am I wrong?

The duvets really are delicious and we have enjoyed them on our last 5 or 6 cruises. I believe they are only in the "PS" and "S" category cabins.

I am assuming that you were really starved when you gobbled down your bedding.
We were on the Maasdam last spring right after some of its decks had gotten redone. Luckily our deck was one of them and we had the new duvets as well as the new mattresses and new pillows. It was one of the best nights sleep we had ever had on a cruise ship. We were in a balcony cabin but not a suite although the suites were on the same deck we were on.
Have a great next cruise.

On the Odam in Feb. and our S suite had the duvet with pillow top mattress and it was wonderful. Also, our daughter and her friend had an inside cabin on the same floor and they also enjoyed the same bedding. They slept so well that we had to wake them every morning. Well, actually I would say we had to get them up every afternoon. Teenagers. But, they both said how wonderful the bed was and that they felt like they could sleep and dream all day. Agreed. I usually miss my bed at home but not on this trip.

We are on the Zuiderdam in a few months. Sometimes we like to watch tv but there is nothing on of interest. Do the S cabins ALL have a DVD player? Thanks

Maybe those in non-suites should add DVD players to their list of items to pack. Just be sure and cushion them so they don't get marred by the blender and mayonaise.
Remeber the story of the fellow who dreamed of eating a giant marshmallow and awoke to find his pillow missing? Could be what happened to the duvets. Whatever they are.

But remember duvets not always are good. I was on an older (now) ship the Crystal Harmony and the first night out of San Juan on a cruise my suite was too hot for a duvet. Would have been just right for a sheet.

Great beds, but no duvet in Verandah on Ryndam.

By duvets, do you mean the actual bedding upgrades under the HAL SOE enhancements? If that is the case, how could someone on the Zuiderdam in an Inside Category have the upgrades when the schedule says not until Fall 2005 for anything below an S category? Ship's services gave me this information as well.

I just realized the poster I referred to was on the Zaandam not the Zuiderdam...my mistaske. No duvets for the Zui, I guess!
