We are embarking on Feb 4th from Fort Lauderdale and are in a SC Suite. Our embarkation time is 1:00pm but are we allowed to arrive earlier and as I understand the lines can be long. Are there separate lines for security and check-in for passengers in a suite?

Yes
There is a special checkin area for Suites and you can board from 11.30 onwards. On our recent cruise, the whole process took about 10 minutes and was pain free.
Be prepared though that you are no longer escorted to your cabin and have to find it yourself.
A couple of tips - if you like a quieter time - consider the retreat cabanas - we thought that they great - try Tamarind- a truly amazing restaurant, we ended up there 4 of the 7 nights!
Have a great cruise!

We usually get to the pier by 11.

I hope your check-in goes better than our Noordam did.

The doors open in Fort Lauderdale at 11AM. Bearing in mind that there is a line up at the security gate entering the port, if you are staying in the 17th Street area near the port entrance or near the airport, you can arrange a taxi for about 10:40 or 10:45 and arrive at the ship just about the time they start the check in process.

At that time of day the crowds are not huge and things go quite quickly.

We cruised the Eurodam the last 2 years in December, We had sup veranda suites, so no special boarding privelages. It went smooth as silk. Maybe 45 mins from start to finish. We got there at 11 am. Everyone was friendly and moved the lines along quickly. We went to the Main dining room for the mariners lunch, had a nice leisurly lunch, then to our room. A great way to start the vacation:)

Just came off the Eurodam on the 10th, I also had and SC suite up graded to SB embarkation was incredible, arrived at the port at 11:00, everyone goes through the security check line, took all of about 5 minutes ( long Line) HAL checked my boarding docs gave me a blue S badge, filled out a medical form, then directed me over to the check in desk for deluxe suite, penthouse guest and 4 star mariners, then they escorted us to the boarding line barrier, opened it and put us first, took a picture and then told us to go to the lido deck 9, however we went to the Neptune lounge, used the concierge to make dinner and lunch reservation at tamarind (excellent), we also reserved a retreat on the lido deck for the two day at sea ($50.00 pd) well worth the money, asked if we could leave our bags with them, they said no problem, had something to drink, then concierge said he called and our room was ready. entered the room around 11:20 or so.. quick, pleasant and really started our cruise off the right way. We expected nothing extra and they went far beyond any expectations...........disembarkation was even better, since we drove to the port no hurry getting off, was issued a pink #1 tag, could leave anytime, instead we stayed in our room, had coffee delivered, then met our table mates for breakfast in the MDR, went back to the room cleaned up, and left the ship around 10:00, HAL letting you stay in your rooms until your number is called was great... we had so many options could have left first, stayed in the Neptune lounge, had breakfast served in our room, we could have breakfast in the pinnacle, the lido or MDR. never felt rushed or hassled to get off the ship pretty nice...
