I know you can borrow an iPod on board to do the art tour but the HAL website says it is also on iTunes. I can't find it there, has anyone ever downloaded to their iPad / iPhone / iPod?

I have downloaded from itunes. On itunes in the search box I put ship art tour (or kept trying similar things) and the whole list came up.

Thanks, boy is iTunes picky. I tried Holland America, art tours, Nieuw Amsterdam and got nothing. Now a new twist, it has fourteen of HAL's ships but not the NA:mad:.

Recently I used the HAL website to download an art tour, and it went into iTunes as an "audiobook". It worked easily.

To download it from the site, go to Onboard our Ships -- then Art Tours --scroll down to the ship and then click on download.
Then depending on your iPod you may need to import to iTunes and copy to your device.
When it is on your ipod - you can find it under music, then more, then audiobooks.
I have it on mine. I used the Prinsendam one on my last cruise. I have downloaded the Veendam one for this upcoming cruise.
I hope this helps.

I was able to download Nieuw Amsterdam. I also listened part of it and it worked fine.

Are you going to iTunes to download it? It was not an option ln itunes. When I have tried with the HAL link it will not download. Now that was trying with my iPad and iPhone.
After reading Debbie's post I am going to go to my computer and try what she outlined.
Thanks for all the help.

Ok, got it, had to do what Debbie suggested. Download it to my computer, load it into iTunes and than sync my iPhone. Since it was my first audio book I also had to turn on syncing for audiobooks. Problem solved, thanks again!

FYI, the art tour can be downloaded from the HAL site into an ipod OR an mp3 player (for those who don't have apple products)

Hi KirkNC!
I downloaded the art tour on my last Maasdam cruise. I've sailed on the ship twice before and wanted to gain insight to the wonderful art on board the ship
Like some of the others stated, I downloaded my tour via the Holland America website.
I really enjoyed getting insight to the art on the ship. The tour is not a long one. I know the ship also offered the art tours at least twice during my sailing (on sea days).
It's a nice way to enjoy the ship in a different way.

Downloading from Itunes becomes such a hassle it's much easier to borrow the Ipod from the library.

Glad to hear it worked.
I enjoyed the tour and learned about all the art and artifacts on the Prinsendam.
I didnt do the actual tour all at once as we were in port 11 out of 14 days (very long days in the ports too) and didnt have time to listen to it at once. The way it is set up I didnt have too.
It was also a nice way to see the whole ship.

Neither my ipod or ipad would allow me to download it directly from the HAL site. It had to go through itunes.
