This brochure may help others who over-think/over-plan their trips!
This is my first attempt at attaching a document - so I hope it works.

That is really useful. Good to see the layout etc. for HMC first timers like us!
Thank you.

Arrrgh, me mates. I promised I would report my reactions to the new pirate ship on HMC - it is HORRIBLE. Hugely dominating the skyline now -looks like a five story building squatting on that once beautiful beach with throbbing, amplified music no matter where you are on the beach from 11 am-1pm.
We tried to do it justice - had stupid, expensive, fruity drink and when inside it is okay. It does make a "there there" as a landmark focal point, which is about the only thing nice I can say about it.
But I was jaw-dropping shocked when I saw it as we were coming into the bay. Huge, out of scale, cheezy and ruined totally the pristine beauty and quiet of the place.
No more Robinson Crusoe feeling to the Island now with its far more low-key and unobtrusive development. Las Vegas has moved to HMC.

We try hard to put blinders on our eyes as we walk past it on our way to I Wish I Could Stay Here Forever.......
THAT is what a HMC bar should look like IMO :)

The IWICSF bar was empty, while the Pirate ship was thumping when we were there. What does that tell you.

It's the noise blaring out of the Pirate Bar that bothers me the most. I could look away from the oversize eyesore, but I could not close my ears. Have too loud music inside, where there is a choice to be there or not---fine with me. But to have that noise take over the entire area ruins the peaceful beach day that I love there.
It was actually much more quiet inside my cabana, where the solid walls blocked the noise than it was on the beach.

I do not like the Pirate Ship Bar -- JMO.
Pity the people who rent the Blue Cabana:

Don't want to say anything -- but that map of HMC is the same one we have been getting for a few years and it is out dated.
There are now 15 Cabanas that can be rented.
And the Half Moon Saloon is really The Priavte Oasis.
I wish HAL would give out updated maps.

I'll second that motion.

How difficult can it be to print new maps showing the accurate number of cabanas and a pirate ship?
And the private Oasis.

It really shouldn't be that difficult to update the maps.

It really shouldn't be that difficult to update the maps.
HAL seems to have a problem getting it done.

It tells me it was different on our cruise than on yours!!! ;)
IWICSHF was three deep at the bar on our cruise.

Just another in the chorus who believe the Capt Morgan ship bar is an abomination. Could tolerate it if it were quiet, but the Yellcats (HALcats) scream and shriek.
Part of the problem is that every ship's musicians use the same amplifiers and speakers at the bar, and the sound system's quality in that high humidity environment is terrible.
Why can't they just use a simple, modest sound system that doesn't blare and distort?
Does HAL have an entertainment coordinator, and if so, whose nephew or niece are they?
