Our family of three is confirmed for late dining in the lower dining room. That is fine for us as we prefer late dining. We travel with our ten-year old son (who is well behaved and well manneredJ). We had late dining on the Legend in October, and it worked well for our family. Missing the children’s activities did not phase our son because he just enjoyed being with us, and he told us that the children he came into contact with in the kids programs were a little too wild for him. The three of us dined at a nice table (booth) for four. We were the only ones at the table. We have requested a small table for four on the Zuiderdam. Do you know if we can be the only ones at a table for four? Has anyone else had experience with this type of situation? We are not anti-social in any way. It is just that we really enjoy this family time—it lets us reconnect and focus on each other since our lives are so hectic and time together is so special.

Shouldn't be a problem at all but, just to be safe, check with the maitre d' soon after boarding to be sure that a) you are at a table for 4 and b) there isn't a fourth person assigned.
One extra benefit of being 3 at a table for 4 is that, on occasion, a ship's officer may ask to join you for that night. They usually have very entertaining stories to tell...

You should have no problem. We just sailed March 12-19th. We asked for a LARGE table...(usually like just ourselves but sailing with my sister and husband...3 of us) and they put us together. I figured for our age group (38-41) we were the only ones without kids , without family requesting such. We saw plenty of tables for four avail. late seating. However, it is at 8:30. You can dine at 8:00 upstairs. So there are actually four seatings. Also, as we were in the karaoke contest, we switched dining times to work with that schedule...no problem. They found us tables at other times on 3 nights.
