I've heard many posters comment on these, but I don't know exactly what they are except that they are located in the spa. Can somebody please give me a brief explanation? My wife has Rheumatoid Arthritis and thought she may enjoy them, what do you think?

The Hydro pool and the Thermalbed are both located in the Greenhouse Spa. The Hydro Pool is a very large whirlpool bath (think big jacuzzi). The Thermalbed is a heated contoured ceramic lounge chair. Each is available on a daily or "length of cruise basis". There is, of course, a charge. My wife has arthritis, so she purchased a pass which was good for the entire cruise. She went at least once everyday and really enjoyed both. They give a free tour on the first day during which you can try the Thermalbed and see the Hydro Pool.

Hi,

Yes, I know the price per day was $29.00 for the Westerdam, yet it was only $15 per day on the Ryndam but then the Hydro Pool was not as big. Both are in the Green House Spa but on the Vista Class ships they are in different rooms that require a card to get in to. The room are right next to each other. On the Ryndam the Hydro Pool is smaller but in the same room as the Thermal Suite with less Aroma Theropy Showers. I actually thought it was better on the Ryndam and far more convient. Spending at least 3 hours using this to me is well worth the money, especially the Thermal Suite.:p

Great! Thanks, Lisa! We will be on the Zuiderdam this Saturday (can't wait!!) and I've heard great reviews of both, so I'm planning to give them a try!

On the Zaandam(3/19-3/26) the Hydro pool and the Thermalbed were both located in the Greenhouse Spa. The Hydro Pool is a very large whirlpool bath but not as warm as a jacuzzi. The Thermalbed is a heated contoured ceramic lounge chair. Do not spend to much time in the chair. My DD got a burn from the chair. My DD's purchased a day pass. You need a card to get into the room from the spa. They also used the Aroma Therapy Showers and steam rooms. My one DD has had a slight cough ever since she used the steam room. I am not sure if it she picked up something or if it is helping to clear her sinuses. I will be taking her to the Dr's if it doesn't clear up. If you take the spa tour you can check them out the first day.
