Good afternoon All, Hope somebody out there can help me. My partner and I are sailing on the Oosterdam 5/7 to Alaska! Can't wait! This is out second trip on Hal (we did the Maasdam last July) I am trying to find out what has been general experience with CruiseLineFormal. Since we're traveling from Boston to Seattle, I am trying to cut down on the luggage. Thought this might be a good way by not having to pack our own Tux's or suits? Any advice good or bad. Much appreciated!

Last Feb when we were on Oosterdam, Joe rented a tux on board and it was really nice - came w/ all the trimmings - nicely starched shirts, studs, etc. It was already in the suite when we arrived and the steward took it away after our last formal night.
I prefer to bring my own, but it's a perfectly good option if you choose.

I know you're trying to keep packing down ... and that's understandable. But if you plan to cruise on even a semi-regular basis, you can purchase one on ebay for the cost of one rental. I did several years ago and it's been well worth it to me.

We rented a tux for my husband on our Hawaii trip last spring and are renting again this spring from Cruiselineformal.com The Tux was in excellent condition and fitted well based on measurements we had taken at a local Mens Wearhouse store. I think you will be pleased with the rental and it sure saves packing space.

We rented a Tux on the Zaandam Christmas sailing out of Port Canaveral. It was easier than bringing our own, cheaper than buying a new suit (DH grew out of his old one) -- but the quality that we received did leave something to be desired.
The lining in the back of the jacket hung below the jacket hem, the pants legs were about 3/4 inch different in length (last time I checked my DH's legs matched so he was not the issue) and not all the studs that we needed were provided. The cufflink was fine except my DH has two arms.
We don't like to complain, maybe this was just a one time slip up, but for our cruise on the Zaandam on Saturday, my DH bought a new suit.

We rented one for my DH on our last cruise last summer - and are renting one again next week. It makes things so much easier - and my DH looks SO D__M GOOD in the tux - Love it, Love it, Love it!!!!! Well worth the extra cost - IMHO.

My brother rented one for last week's cruise and it was there waiting for him when he got to his stateroom. Everything fit fine and there were no screwups. Sure beats taking one IMHO. :)

I decided to give Cruiselineformals a try on our most recent cruise on the Z and I was very pleased. It fit better than most of my own suits and was in excellent condition. For me, next time (11/15) I'll rent again in a heartbeat. Just remember, things will only fit as good as the measurements you give them!:)

My partner and I rented tux twice for Celebrity cruises. I think the same company supplies for both Celebrity and HAL. We were very happy with the Tuxs. We booked ours on-line a few months prior to the cruise, and we got a call from the company the next day, turns out we had made a typo on measurements, and they were double checking, since it did not look right. Very good pro-active customer service. On the ship, the tuxs were delivered to our cabin on the second day, everything included and fit great. We really like not lugging suits/tux through the airports. I would recommend the rental route. And as a bonus.....hidden out of sight in the waist band is a 'extender'....can add about 1.5 inches to the waist, very convenient as the week goes on !

Hi, We used them for a Tahitian cruise. My DH usually takes his kilt for formal nights, but it's a long joureny from Scotland to Tahiti and we were stopping off enroute too. It didn't seem worth taking his kilt for only two formal nights. I have to admit we weren't sure what we'd find, but the tux was in the room when we got there. Fitted perfectly and it was taken away on our last day. Well worth it for us.

I rented a tux from Cruiseline formal for our cruise on the Westerdam this past January. As others have stated, it was in our cabin when we arrived and the fit was perfect. I did consider purchasing a tux but given the amount of stuff DW packs (had to pay for overweight charge on her bags...even though half of MY bag had her stuff also), I went with the "bring less stuff" option! I had no problem with the tux rental.

Just got off the line with the cruiseline tux rental company.....they did not have a record of my order - they had had problems lately with their online service & email - so I rebooked. They were very nice and helpful - but you may want to check if you have not received your confirmation.

Yikes! That would be a bummer ... getting on board and not having your formalwear.
