The last of the cheapest large inside cabins I could get was 1123 on the main deck. On the deck plans, it is the most aft cabin and appears to be next to some empty spaces, which are not labelled. Also, I can't tell from the diagram what type of area lies at the aft of the ship. Am I next to the engines? I can still upgrade to a J if there is going to be a problem with this location. Please be honest!

Well I dont have your answer but , ask yourself, how picky are you ??? How bothersome would those engines bother you ???? Aft is always more movement and vibrations, so will that bother you ???? I say if you answered yes to any of these questions, perhaps you should upgrade and move to a different cabin :) Just my 2 cents worth :)

Thanks for the input. I'm not really that picky. I've been in a balcony near the rear of the ship and an inside midship and never really noticed my location much. Just wondering if there is an extraordinary amount of noise or movement compared to other aft cabins since the deckplans show only empty spaces (instead of cabins) adjacent.

My husband and I stayed in cabin 1123 on the Westerdam on the March 6-13 sailing. This was our first cruise, and we plan to book an outside room/suite on our future cruises. The only complaint we had with this room were the vibrations when the ship was maneuvering at ports of call. It literally felt like an earthquake. Very nice, large inside stateroom though. I wouldn't recommend staying in it if vibrations and noise bother you. The only thing aft of this room is crew members' cabins behind a locked door open only to crew members. Hope this helps!
