Hello,
I will be on the Eurodam TA cruise in April and booked 2 Lido Cabanas for 3 people. How much champagne do you get at 3 PM? Is it one glass PP or one bottle per cabana? This will help me figure out how much champagne to bring on board.;) Thanks for your responses.

They poured several glasses per person for us. We had all the champagne we wanted.

Thank you for your response. I can cut down how many bottles I bring on board then.

Does this happen exactly at 3pm even on port days? I'll have to make sure I'm back and my butt is in the cabana by then every day. ;)

Yes, and if you're late and not back until 4pm, you will still get your glass filled.:D

They were very generous. The attendants were great. We had Sonny and Gilbert
Very attentive. You will love the cabanas.

Some days the champagne came out around 1:30. The servers learned two things quickly. 1), We like champagne. 2) We tip.
The second wasn't because we bribed them upfront. It was because we were on for a B2B, and after the first week, one of the attendents was at the end of his contract. So we tipped him. But we were afraid the remaining attendant would feel left out or that we didn't like him. So we tipped him as well. In fact, we loved all the attendants, and they definitely earned their tips.
Can't say that mattered a lot. The champagne flowed pretty freely both weeks. As OVgirl stated, if you are late, they will still fill your glass at 4pm. We told our attendants our schedule, and they had the champagne waiting.

I will have may tip money ready!

I have reserved a retreat cabana for my February cruise, and wonder how much to bring for tips (assuming the same great service so many mention...). Should I tip daily? Or on the last afternoon? What amount is considered "generous"? I am not rich, but my dear Dad always told me that if you can afford to go out, you can afford to tip! Yes, in the best of all possible worlds, service personnel would get decent wages, but since that is not the world we live in, grumbling about tipping always sounds so ungracious to me.

We tipped on the last afternoon. Tipping is totally personal, and up to you.

I was wondering the same thing. So, you just gave them a tip in an envelope on the last afternoon? I was thinking about slipping a buck or three every time they bring me lunch from the lido or something, but this sounds much more convenient.
Ball park figure on tipping? I have absolutely no idea. I know it is gauche to even ask, but ... :) There are two people? I might even get the tip ready now and put it in envelopes and set it aside. Otherwise my cash tends to disappear. I already have an envelope of $1 bills set aside for room service (we intend to order breakfast in the room each morning).

We were is the Retreat Cabana for 14 days. We felt more than a couple of dollars was appropriate. We gave it to them on the last afternoon, but didn't use an envelope. Just palmed it to them.
I do like your idea of a buck or two if they get your lunch for you.

Wouldn't your tip depend upon the level of service you received? Wouldn't you gauge it by how happy you were and what they did to enhance your comfort, ease and enjoyment?
How can you decide that in advance?

We had a Lido Cabana a few weeks ago and it was the best thing of the cruise! Our guys were Dexter and N.J. We palmed them each a very generous tip the last afternoon ($20+ each). We wished we could afford more as they truly deserved it.
Cash is always best, but other ways you can tip without bringing loads of cash, is by giving phone cards or itune cards.

WE had the retreat cabana on the Eurodam and also tipped with cash the last day. We just handed them the money, shook their hands. You will love the cabanas!:D

Also, the champagne could be had whenever you wanted it and it did flow pretty freely.:)

Thanks for replying to the tipping question. I, too, like to leave home with prestuffed envelopes, since otherwise my cash oddly enough does seem to vanish! I generally put in each envelope what I hope is a generous tip. I can always take some out if there have been problems, but that has only happened once. Our table service on the NA last year was very poor. This came as a surprise, because one of our tablemates was doing a back-to-back and specifically requested the table since service was super the week before. One never knows...
