Not positive of what I overheard on the radio chatter between Nieuw Amsterdam and Westerdam Captains and Shore Side. But it sounds like the Westerdam Captain is leaving the ship.... I heard him (think it was Westerdam) asking if his car was ready. And then something from the Nieuw Amsterdam Captain to Westerdam asking if the Captain had left yet.....

SO, if we have a Captain change on Westerdam, we might not have the Awesome Horn work as we've had recently....

Pier two is not the best location. Taxi's never stop by there and that is a constant complaint from the Princess Cruisers. Where the two different areas that HAL normally docks seem to always have no problems with getting taxi's.

Lisa, they are at #4 and I think they were placed there because they were the last cruise ship in this morning. Just a guess, but best I can think of. I was as surprised as you when I saw her there.

Even the staff in the Sky Lounge are complaining. Lot's of innovation going on. Lady across from me is wrapped up in a blanket, some have gone and bought sweat shirts.
Not the first time we have experienced cold temperature's in this airport.

Reminds me of my stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge at Disney. They had warnings in the rooms that, because the balconies overlook the savannah where animals were roaming, they were concerned about anything that might fall or be thrown off a balcony (you cannot get a drink with a straw at that resort) so be aware there are many cameras focused on the rooms. In other words, if your drapes are open and you're doing something you might not want others to see, be aware that you are on Candid Camera.

No, it is the row just under the opt row, the ones where you see the most windows across the length of the ship.

I didn't hear ANYTHING from the Westerdam :confused:. I did hear a lot of people cheering, sounding like they were trying to get him to blow the horn...along with the horns you mentioned....so sad :(

That could very well be the answer, I am pretty sure the Westerdam was a Charter this week. OK we can give him the benefit of the doubt ;) Now the only problem is I think there are several Charters coming up for the Westerdam. So they may not do it. :o

Yes, but the Westerdam was the last ship in AND I think it might have been that way because of the Delbert Cruise Charter. They might have requested a different pier... I don't know, just guessing, hopefully a good one, but still just a guess.

Sheila I posted this photo from Ruby Princess as they cruised by. It is of one of Lou's Banners, so you have an idea of how it looks.

I am so sorry to hear about one of them having Mono. That is one horrid infection. Daughter had it her senior year, was home for nearly 2 months *HORRID time for me* :) I had it in '93 and was miserable:(
