Kind of a shame it's only US and Canadian military...still, it's more than HAL offers.

That is a very nice amount of ship board credit for those taking a 14 day or longer cruise.

It is commendable that they recognize the sacrifice that are made not only by active personnel, but also by veterans. Maybe HAL might consider such a gesture and write it off to excellent PR.

Cunard has exactly the same program. I believe they also include U.K. and Commonwealth as well.

Princess offers shipboard credits on select sailings to active or reserve military personnel currently serving in the Canadian Forces, United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserves, and retired personnel from any of these divisions. "Retired" is defined as A) enlisted personnel or officers with a minimum of 20 years of service, B) medically retired, or C) 100% disabled. Veterans with an honorable discharge serving a minimum of 2 years, or 6-months in an active war zone, in any of the United States service divisions listed above are also eligible. Qualifying guests must present a photocopy of the proper military ID and a driver's license or passport at the time of booking. Shipboard credits are valued at $50 per cabin on all cruises of 6-nights or less, $100 per cabin on all cruises of 7- to 13-nights, and $250 per cabin on all cruises of 14-nights or longer. This promotion is combinable with other shipboard credit offers listed on individual sailings, but it may not be combinable with all fares.

Just a little correction on the above information--the policy has been updated and now includes up to 2 military vets/active duty members per cabin. My husband and I are retired US Navy and we both received the military OBC on our Alaskan cruise last Sept.
