Hi all,
I've been lurking this board for sometime and have appreciated all of the information. We will be booking the Navigator in the next week for the western Carribean x Fll on 27 Feb '12.
My question hinges on what "benifits" come with the pentouse butler suites as opposed to normal old deluxe suites. We are trying to decide if there is much more advantage than location between E & D Deluxe or B penhouse.
I know (or think) the rooms are virtually identical. Specific questions include
Does the Ipod (penthouse) grant you any form of wireless connectivity? We are more interested in using our own laptops / playbooks anyway.
Does the butler give any pull toward specialty reservations?
Are there any other in Cabin perks? Not sure if it was this board or Seabourne's that we saw about coursre by course room service.
Are there ny other signicant differences other than location
I tried several searches but not really getting what I hoped for. Please don't flame me I am not trying to to prematurely push the two tier concept which has been well debated. This cruise is just seven weeks away and prior to the concirge level program.
Thanks again for all of your input. After several mainstream cruises we're looking forward to testing the "luxury" market.:)

The penthouse suites give you a better location. We were on deck 10. Loved the location. The butler could not get us any extra reservations at Prime 7 but gave us excellent service.
We were able to use our I pad, laptop etc. in our suite.
We did receive tons of bath products (Hermes and L'Occitane) that were replaced two times a day.
The penthouse suites are the same size as the suites on the lower decks. You are paying for the location and having the use of a butler on the Navigator.
Plus you get canapes in the afternoon which is a nice touch.
We never ordered room service for dinner but you can get course-by-course from the Compass Rose menu for dinner in any of the suites if you order during regular dining hours.

Many of us think low and amidships is a better location if you experience rough seas - not as much movement that could translate into seasickness.

There is a lot of movement of the ship on navigator. Ted is right, low and midship is better to avoid that. Also don't want to be too far aft on navigator to avoid vibration.

I would not pay for the same cabin higher up, just for a butler and better toiletries. I'm on Navigator in May, and I will be low down, mid-ship, in an E suite (they are more central than F's I think, and G's are window cabins.)

Agree that Navigator Penthouse suites are not worth the extra cost. Also agree that the aft suites could be uncomfortable due to vibration. We have also stayed too forward and felt the motion of the ocean a bit too much. I would go with a "D" or "E" suite -- as much mid-ship as possible. If a balcony is not a priority, a suite lower on the ship would also work.

I disagree - I love having a butler and have always found him (they are all or almost all men) to be very helpful and nice. it is great to have someone you can ask to get things done (laundry back the same day at no extra cost for example, or dinner reservations or extra canapés if you have others in for a drink, or change an excursion etc etc) . The suite is the same size as a "normal" one, unlike on the Mariner where the PH suites are huge! But they are larger than the normal suites on the Mariner... and I jsut love having that butler!
