First time on Regent. We reserved a category F deluxe suite on Voyager, mid ships on deck 7. We're considering an upgrade to category B penthouse suite with butler service on deck 8, futher towards the stern (but not at the stern) and near the laundry area. My only reservations are that my wife gets seasick so I'm wondering about being further aft and also if there is much noise or traffic from the laundry area. Any advice would be great.

Some say there are vibration issues in the aft regions of Voyager. I've never had an aft cabin on Voyager, so I can't personally say.

I had much the same choice for an upcoming cruise departing Sydney. I chose to stay where I was midships rather than upgrade. I valued the stability more than the butler, particularly on a cruise with a large number of sea days. But I will regret the choice if the seas are smooth.

According to a passenger on our last cruise (on the Voyager), being near the laundry was not a problem. In fact, for them, it was an advantage because it was so convenient.
In terms of Penthouse suites on deck 8, if the suite is more aft than 863, I'd be concerned about noise from the vibration rather than movement of the ship. Forward of that area should be fine.

I wouldn't worry about being seasick there at all, but you might feel vibration. Whether this would bother you or not is very individual.

Having been on the Voyager several times, I would not go further back than mid-ship. We find the vibration toward the back definitely annoying. We had a PH in the forward section of the ship on a 25-night cruise last year and enjoyed that location very much, though we had mostly smooth seas. We did like the configuration of the PH even though the square footage is not appreciably different than the standard cabin.

I really enjoyed the PH B cabin the one time we had one. It is more spacious than standard because there is less waste space.
That being said, ours was forward, and I don't think I'd choose one aft on Voyager, because of vibration.
As for seasickness, I am prone at times, and I always keep Bonine on hand, taking it in advance if the seas are going to be rough. Being low down in a standard cabin mid-ship is definitely the best place to be, if you are worried about this.

We love those PHB cabins and have been in both 862 and 861 and they were wonderful with no vibration issues. We did 861 on a TA and I am subject to seasickness but never had an issue except for one night, which was my own fault for not taking my pill the one day it was rocky.
I have some clients booked on a Baltics on Voyager and they are in 861 and 862 and I have no reservations at all recommending those two aft suites.
862 is on the other side from the laundry room, and 861 is in the same hallway, and neither time did we hear or notice a sound or an issue. Go for it, you will love them.

We're looking at 867 (class B), which is a couple of rooms aft of 861. We were offered a half price upgrade from our class F room. Had to make an immediate decision and there wasn't enough time to consult this board, so I took it. Hope we made the right decision as far as vibration, motion, noise, etc. Wouldn't want to spend an entire cruise vibrating (!) but, absent such issues, the upgrade should be nice.

ridolphi, Thanks for your info. We're in 861 next Jan. on b2b Sydney to Hong Kong. Was somewhat concerned because of all the posts about vibration; not that it would have bothered me, having been on a WW2 carrier for 3 years, but, DW might have felt differently.

brownsf - the general consensous is that the vibration is noticed aft of the laundry room and down the hallway leading to the suites across the aft, and I did check that out the first time and that did seem to be true. But the two hallways where the PH's are were fine all the way.
newlondon - I think you will be fine and enjoy that suite. As I said we didn't notice any vibration at all except maybe when the side thrusters were being used, and then everyone feels it for a few minutes. Its very quiet back there in my opinion.
