Dale,
My wife did it last December and love it. Unfortunately I booked this excursion but they had 2 horses down and I end up giving my spot. Riding in the water was quite an experience since there is no sadle it is hard to stay on, she said the horses do not particularly like it. She had lots of fun.
Hope this helps.

I just did the horseback riding excursion last week in HMC and I must have had a different horse because she loved the water. We did the trail ride first that takes you up to the highest part of the island where you overlook the ship and beach. The hills were quite steep but you can request that the guide take your horse's lead during the trip so that makes things a bit more comfortable. The pads that they use in the water were quite secure and no one from my group slipped off at all. :)

I did this excursion in February. It was the most fun I've had on a horse!
They do a trail ride for about 20-30 minutes, and then they take the saddles off and replace them with waterproof pads. The guides take you into the water in groups of 6 at a time. The horses are running or swimming in the water, about up to their shoulders, and your legs are submerged to your thighs. The horses didn't comment to me if they liked it or not. No one fell off.
You can do a search on Horseback riding on HMC and come up with quite a few recent descriptions.

We have the pink cabana booked this coming week and the kids, 11 & 14 don't know that we are also doing the horseback riding. Have read many posts saying it was a blast. Hold on tight though. I will be a little bumbed if for any crazy reason we can't tender in. Does that happen often?

Can you let me know how you like the pink cabana after you return? We have that booked for our October Zui cruise.
Thanks! :)
