Shuttles in Port

I'm taking a Baltic cruise on the Eurodam in June. While I plan tours in some of the ports, there are a few I plan to do on my own. Does HAL have shuttles available from the dock to the town center in Tallin, Helsinki and Stockholm?

In Europe, it is rare for a cruise line to provide shuttles. Ports or cities usually provide them where available.

In Tallin, you should not require any form of shuttle service, the town is within walking distance.


Helsinki has a direct bus (shuttle) to downtown. Cannot remember if we paid or it was free.


Stockholm depends on where you dock. One cruise that required a lengthy shuttle was offered at a price. Another cruise, we docked almost in town and it was walkable. I do think there was a local shuttle for those less energetic.

Definitely hit the ports board - it is a lot of help. But for what it's worth when we were there last time, there were shuttles where they were needed. They were provided by the ports - not the ships.

Most had a negligible fee - 1 to 5 eruos. Very reasonable:D

When we did our Baltic cruise in '05 there were HAL shuttles in Helsinki ($3/p/direction) and Stockholm ($5/p/dir).

In Tallinn the dock was very close to the old town, but we opted for a HAL walking tour that took us up to the top of Toompea hill by bus, and we walked backed down. That was well worth the cost, as we would never have made it up there on foot, and would have missed the Nevsky Cathedral and the great views.

These were HAL shuttles. We bought tickets at the front desk in $US. We did have to use Swedish money for the ferries we took.
