We are booked on the Zaandam 18 March 2012 cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong with a guaranteed E cabin.

There were plenty of cabins available higher than E yesterday, but today the HAL website says that "There is no availability for this cruise departure you have selected. Select a different cruise".

What does this mean:confused: A charter:confused: A large group booking:confused:

Any information appreciated, including what may be offered to us if the cruise is chartered.

Cheers from Down Under

they could be assigning some cabins or doing some calculations as to what rooms will be available (ie too many guarantees in one category). This happens now and then. It doesn't necessarily mean that a charter or large group booking is on. Check back on the website in a day or two and you may very well see availability again:)

A ship wouldn't be chartered just two months before a sailing. It could mean that the ship is full. Yesterday when there were "plenty available" it just meant that those cabins were unassigned to anybody, and available for selection, but there were most likely many of them sold with guarantees.

A ship wouldn't be chartered just two months before a sailing.... especially a 14-day cruise in Asia.

This is fairly standard at this point in time prior to a cruise. The process of assigning GUAR cabins, (although you may not know your assignment until 2 weeks out), upgrades, upsells and the other final assignments of cabins is starting. Plus, and holds by TAs have been released by now.
