Walking Hampton Inn to pier

We have The Hampton Inn & Suites Convention center booked for our pre-cruise stay in December 05. We plan to walk from the hotel to the pier, all luggage is on wheels. Is there a way to get to the pier through the Convention Center or do you have to go around either on Julia st or Henderson? Which route is quickest easiest?:confused:

We're staying there too (in June) and it looks like we do have to go all the way around the convention center. I'll post how it went, upon my return.

You have to go around. The distance is about the same, either way, but you will have much less vehicular traffic to deal with if you take Julia Street.

Definately go down Julia St. It is not a long walk, but remember, the weather can be cold in December.

Thanks for the info. It could probabily be cool in NOLA in Dec but it will be a heat wave compared to Wisconsin in Dec. Thanks for the warning!:)
