Can anyone tell me the Full Suite ammenities on the Vista Class ships? Also, we plan to have coffee & snacks in the Neptune Lounge and have the Concierge a reservation for the Pinnacle Grille. Do we tip him/her and if so, how much?
Thanks so much for the help!!

Saw that you just got a great deal. Congratulations. There is free laundry and dry cleaning, express boarding, tendering and disembarkation, corsage on formal night, the Concigere will make reservation, book shore excursions, pretty much whatever you need. We do tip them extra, depending on how much we ask them to do. There are more amenities, but my mind went blank. Have a great cruise. Ok, here are a couple more, there will be a suite welcome aboard cocktail party, a suite luncheon, and the balcony is to die for!!!!!!!

You will be invited to the a suite cocktail party - usually the first night.
There will also be a suite buffet the last sea day in the Crow's Nest.
There will be binaculars for you to use.
And a big umbrella should you encounter a rainy day while in port.
You will also get free personalized stationary.
Your gold card that is also your ID and room key on many ships - just show it whenever you are ready to tender to certain ports - don't need to get in any special lines.
You will have your own check-in line at embarkation.
You will also have priority for disembarkation.
Some suite passengers are invited to an extra Who's Who / VIP cocktail party in the middle of the cruise.

KK, the VIP party is one thing we did not get invited to on the Westerdam. Either they did not have one or we were not VIP'S being in a Suite:confused:
I was under the impression not every suite passenger got invited to the VIP party. We did when we were on the Ryndam and it was quite nice. We felt like they did not do that much for Suite passengers on the Westerdam. On the Ryndam we each received our own Invitations for the parties, on the Westerdam it was only one invite addressed to our Room number not even our name:confused:
I really felt like being a Suite Passenger on the Westerdam was really nothing special not like it was on the Ryndam.

I have no idea how they decide who gets an invitation to the VIP party, but on our last 6 or 7 cruises we have been invited and we weren`t always suite pax. In fact, over the holidays we did BtoBs in an A cat. and turned down our invitations to the VIP party.........jean

I always book steerage and (with one exception) have been invited to the VIP party every cruise since I received my first medal. I was never invited before that.
Never knew why I was excluded that once.
Guess we know what makes me special. ;)

Thanks once again everyone. It's kind-of a fluke how this happened. We had booked 2 balcony cabins and HAL called our TA today and asked us to move to 1 suite instead, with a shipboard credit. If the suite wasn't mid-ship, we would've turned it down, but it just happened to be the exact cabin we were considering when we booked last summer. Weird, huh?
Thanks again for the help!

On the Oosterdam we got one invite for each event but it was always addressed to "Mr. & Mrs."

On the Amsterdam we also received a bottle of champagne from the Captain and had fresh flowers in our room. Our invitations were addressed to everyone staying in the cabin.

I'm in a suite to Mexico later this yr on the Oosterdam and haven't seen anyone mention extras like u stated u recd on the Amsterdam. I wld like to know what the date of your cruise was? Perhaps 'they' have discontinued the champ. & flowers in the room on the Oosterdam - anyone else know or done a cruise on 'her' lately in a suite? Appreciate knowing..!

The suite amenities are a HAL perk and are standard on all the ships. You will have a small flower arrangement and a bottle of champagne waiting for you in your suite upon arrival. When posters list the suite amenities I think these are often forgotten, but there would be no reason the Oosterdam would not have them. Did when we were on it. ;)

We have always had a bottle of welcome aboard champagne waiting in our suite every cruise. The invitations to various parties have always been addressed to Mr/Mrs.
Lady Jag......I'm surprised you gave up your two cabins for one suite. The suites on Vista class are noticeably smaller than on all the previous HAL ships. It is cramped for two adults and two teens. You will be in rather tight quarters. Also.....you gave up the second bathroom. That will make a huge difference IMO
Hope you have a good time.

Maybe it is just me but I don't consider the amentities for Suites to be perks. I think of them as items included in the price we pay for our cruises.
