I was just looking at my room. We are on the Nieuw Amsterdam in a balcony room 8036 which I just realized is below the lido deck....should we be worried about noise??

Oh my! I would NEVER book any stateroom that was located beneath either the Lido or the Galley/Kitchen! ;)

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Looks like you are under the buffet dining area. Once we were under the aft deck and heard some movement of lounge chairs early in the morning for just a few minutes as they pulled the lounger stacks out across the deck. It wasn't much of an issue but it was there. You might hear them vacuuming. I hope you enjoy your cruise beyond any little noises. One floor under the lido has the advantage too of being that much closer to the goodies! We lliked that part! m--

We were in Nieuw A 8057 for 12 nights, and the only time we heard more than brief incidental noise was the night of the dessert extravaganza, for about 90 minutes. We loved the location and would happily take it again, any cruise.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Looks like you are under the buffet dining area. No, 8036 is under the pool deck area, near the door leading to the spa/gym. That side will likely get more foot traffic than we had on the starboard side, however.

Oh my! I would NEVER book any stateroom that was located beneath either the Lido or the Galley/Kitchen!And I would NEVER book an inside like you prefer unless no outsides were available. To each his own. I think the deck 8 V cabins are the best non-suites on the N.A.

We were in Cabin 8057 on the Westerdam for 19 days, never heard any noise at all.:D We were so impressed with these cabins, that we booked a SS cabin on the same deck on the Noordam in Oct. 2012. :)

The crew were performing work in the ceiling area of deck 8 on the Westerdam and I could not help but notice the thicness of the sprayed on sound/fire insulation, and it is thick.

Have a wonderful cruise.:)

We had a balcony under the Lido and did notice noise early in the morning with lounge chairs moving about. We just went back to sleep or took it as a wake up call and had our breakfast on the balcony! I will say that getting to/from our room was VERY easy for that 'oops, I forgot so-and-so'.

We did have friends who got a balcony at the rear of the ship just under the Lido. They were amazed at the amount of litter that ended up on their blacony floor! This was either due to things blowing or people just throwing trash off the back!

We enjoyed our cruise, but will be wary in the future about rooms below the Lido.

ok....won't mind a few chairs moving around...it would be loud music or PA system around the pool that might concern me.....but than again...this is NOT Carnival...so may not need to worry!! :)

I also don't foresee music or PA being an issue as most of that ends around betime anyway....all that moves indoors.

You will enjoy your room and your cruise - no matter where you sleep! AND if the music keeps you awake, it means you are not too tired to party!

Is that like 'under the boardwalk';) for those oldies -- however, to be serious, I have been under the Lido on my last 3 cruises -- I heard chairs moving only when I was near the pool -- under the carpeted restaurant there was no noise. Go for it and don't worry.

Oops, I guess I read the deck plan wrong... shouldn't try the mind too early! :) m--

...it would be loud music or PA system around the pool that might concern me....Except around Noon sometimes, and barbecue night, the loud music and goings-on happen mainly around the aft pool .
