Hi,

I sailed on the Volendam 2004, 10 day Southern Carribean Christmas sailing. My second sailing is currently being booked on the Zuiderdam, April 9th, 2005. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a Self-Service laundry on board the Zuiderdam, as was on the Volendam? Also, any feedback would be appreciated on what you thought of the ship? Thanks!

Best,

As always,

Bruce

There aren't any self service laundries on any of the Vista class ships - Zuiderdam, Oosterdam, Westerdam, and soon to come out, the Noordam.

No self service laundry on the Zuiderdam or any of the Vista class ships. There is a laundry service available, I believe you can purchase unlimited for the entire cruise or pay per bag. If you have chosen an S category or higher the laundry service is included.

No self-service laundries on the Vista ships, such as the Zui. The older ships have them. But you can wash out things in your sink or tub.

I read about a cruiser who did her laundry in the whirlpool tub. Management might frown on that, however, as HAL uses a special environment-friendly soap.

All the information above is correct. My only problem is calling the Volendam, Zaandam, and Amsterdam "older ships." They are "turn of the century" ships.
Not that long ago!
