OK...so Sunday we are departing on the Westerdam, sailaway and lots of excitement first night on board. It also happens to be Superbowl Sunday and you would like to watch the game, but also keep the peace with your SO (he is not a football fan).
Game time starts at 6:30. What dining arrangements would you recommend for this first evening?:)

We sailed on the Westerdam last year over the super bowl. We ate in the lido so we would not miss any of the festivities and then were sorry we did. When we went to the Super Bowl Party which was held in the theatre, there was all sorts of "tailgating" food. It was a great time, the only thing you miss is the commercials.

Do you have Fixed or Open seating?
The Lido or Room Service (order off the MDR menu) should work.
That said, Superbowl games are longer than HAL dining room dinners, so you should be able to do both! :D

The game starts at 6 P.M. Eastern.
Lido, Main Dining Room, Pinnacle and Canaletto are all open.
If you have late traditional dining at 8 P.M., you can see alot of the game before dinner but it won't be over. If you have Come When You Want, go at 8:30 or so.
HAL runs fun game day parties.... Check what they are doing and you may wish to have tailgate food at the party.
The game will also be shown on cabin TV's IF they are able to pull down the satelite signal.

Kick-off is 6:30 http://www.nfl.com/superbowl/46
Good to know about the tail gate munchies...and maybe room service is a reasonable compromise. I know DH will want to go to the dining room first night (fixed late sitting). Maybe it will be all over by half time and it won't be an issue.:)

Keep in mind Patriots going into locker room at the half down 21 points and coming back to win. :D :)
It's not over until it's over!!! ;)
Go Patriots!!!!!

If you plan on staying in your cabin, you may want to consider room service.
If you are viewing in one of the public areas, head to the Lido after the game.

I have to agree with the above poster. If the game is of that significant importance to you, order room service and go up to the lido buffet 11PM-ish, for a snack.

I would suggest if you plan on Room Service, be a little patient. It is very possible they could be swamped with orders. ;)

Lots of good ideas here on how to handle dinner. I would go with the tailgating option but I like football.
And the Giants won't be giving up that 21 point halftime lead!
Go Giants!!
