Ft Lauderdale after Disembarkation-Day Pass Somewhere?

Silly question, but what have you done if your flight is late after you leave the ship. I hate sitting in the airport, and what a way to ruin a wonderful vacation by waiting for your flight. What have you done to by time? Remember we still have all of our luggage. Our flight is at 7PM. I thought maybe I could call a hotel who is beach side and ask if i could use their facility for the day, for a fee. And store my luggage use the pool/or beach. Help with this please. And what hotel should I call. Iam not familiar with the area

When my flight was leaving Miami at 7:45pm last year I rented a car and drove to Sawgrass to do some shopping. Toured around Ft Lauderdale for awhile, stopping at the beach and then drove down to Miami. :)
