Educator discounts

I am curious...I just heard thet Hal offfers Educator discounts. I have sailed on Hal before, but not recently. If anyone out there has nformation..I would appreciate it. Do they offer these discounts in the summer? How far in advance can you find out about them. Any special agents that you use? Please E amil me if you have any SECRET information that cannot be posted! Thanks

I have e-mailed my TA to inquire. Seems I may have heard of this before. I just can't remember. Since my DW is a teacher, it would be nice to have another little break on pricing.

Last summer both of my cruises had Educator Discounts applied to them because of my job. It would be sweet if these applied again this summer. :)

Another thing is that there are upgrades offered on the Zuiderdam this summer using the View & Verandah Sale offer. :) Be sure to ask your TA about this too.

HAL is offering Promo 27, Community Appreciation Fares.

These are discounted cruises for Teachers, Hospital Workers, Firefighters, Police Officers and Active Duty Military.

Your TA should be able to get you a list of the cruises that are eligible for this discount.

Thank you all... I got the information, but the European trips are only listed up until June 8th.. I am still on the job LOL! I wonder if you book a cruise early..if they will apply the discounts when they become available? Anyone aware of other lines that offer these discounts besides hal?

Just booked my August 20 cruise on the Zuiderdam and saved $400 Canadian by booking it through the View & Verandah Sale as opposed to the Educator Discount. Got a VA stateroom for the price of a D! Yippee!! :D

That's a great deal. My TA checked on the educator discount and, just our luck, it doesn't apply to our August sailing!

Not sure about SOS (YIKES!!!) and the deals that they might offer you. You could always check with your TA and ask about the View & Verandah Sale...it does apply to certain sailings with the most being on the Zuiderdam on her eastern and western routes through to mid December. There are also sales on the Zaandam, Volendam, Veendam, Westerdam, and Maasdam but not as many sailings are offered. :)
