Liquor Stores in Progreso?

Are there any good liquor stores in Progreso where I might buy tequila? I always shop for it in Cozumel but wanted to see what Progreso might have.

You can look around the beach area, but won't find too much selection there. I suggest a short cab ride (5 minutes) to Bodega Aurrera which is the largest supermarket in Progreso and they do have a small selection of tequilas there at "normal" prices. You will find a greater selection in Cozumel, but I suspect prices there will be much higher both because everything on an island always is and because the place is 100% geared for tourism.

An excellent sipping tequila is Herradura Reposado. Around the 300 peso mark.

Kobe Liquor. Ask "Donde esta Kobe Liquor". It is about 5 blocks south of Saint Bonnet's on a cross street, forget the name of cross street. Anyone know the exact street?

Covi liquors. Calle 27 between Calles 76 and 78. Walk east from the Faro (lighthouse). It is in the same building as the movie theater. I am not sure about the selection, but I see lots of cruise ship passengers in the store. No need to take a cab to the Bodega, since their tequila selection is limited.

We were there 2 years ago and there were several liquor stores at the port, all with better prices than Cozumel. Try the almond .....
