I am thinking of renting one of the cabanas when my family and I are at Half Moon Cay. Does anyone have any suggestions about which Cabana is better? There is an orange, a purple .... and each seems to have a different location. Does one have an advantage over the others. Also, if you have rented the cabana is it worth it to splurge for the butler? Don

The green cabana seems to be the best IMHO...unfortunately I didn't get it for my August cruise. :( The butler is worth it if you have a 4 person group in the cabana...anything smaller and you would have way too much food to eat. :D

If you look in my cruise photo link in my signature below, in HMC & Cabanas there is a map showing colors and locations :) Hope it helps :)

We rented a cabana last January when we sailed on Rotterdam. We did not have a butler and really didn't miss having one. We had a waiter bring us drinks and he also brought us lunch from the barbeque.

If you rent a cabana, remember to bring some cash to tip your waiter. It took us forever to find him again on board the ship and his service certainly deserved compensation.

We were in the orange cabana last year; I believe it was the furthest one down the beach. The cabana experience is definitely not to be missed, especially with the special transpo out from and back to the tender pier. You definitely don't need the butler. The waiters wander down every 20-30 minutes to see if you need anything, and we decided we really needed the exercise and walked over to the lunch pavilion even though we could have had our lunch brought to us. Our favorite thing to do was drift around the bay on the foam mats - although someone did pull up on a boat and remind us at one point that we were drifting out toward the Maasdam and should probably use the tender to return to the ship!

And I love the "I Wish I Could Stay Here Forever" Bar. The drinks were great and the name is better.

I believe the cabana that is furthest down the beach is called terra cotta...kind of an orange reddish colour. :) The true orange cabana is located midway down the beach.

We had the turquoise cabana last week and the location was perfect - close to restrooms, food pavilion with not much foot traffic at all. I also agree with the previous poster - if you have 4 in the cabana I would splurge and have butler service. Since it was just DH and I we opted to "pass". The cabana was completely set-up when we arrived at 8:45 AM and the cabana stewards checked-in about every 30 minutes to see if we needed anything. Interesting though, we asked if they could get our lunch for us and were told that they were not permitted to do so. No problem though - we were dropped off at the food pavilion after our stingray excursion, loaded our plates and walked to our cabana.

The cabana boys that I/we had always brought us lunch...but maybe we were far enough away from the pavillion and they felt they had to.
