Visa Information for Australians in Port of Spain Trinidad

Hello fellow cruisers
We are Australian and we may possibly need a Visa to visit Trinidad on Grand Princess 49 day South American Itinerary 2013.

Conflicting information is:

1.Do we need a Visa as some Consulate advice and other services (DFAT, VISA HQ, T & T Ministry of Tourism)) says we do and some not.
2.We have no consulate in Australia.Nearest is Ottawa and London.
3.Has any Aussie cruiser been on a Princess cruise to Trinidad?
4.Do Princess have a visa waiver program on board if a Visa is required?
5.Has any one have any information about how to obtain a Visa from Australia if one is required?

We have searched, emailed Consulates(who don't bother to respond) and to date no one can advise either way, not even Princess who we booked directly with.They even suggested that we can be denied boarding in Fort Lauderdale if we don't have any required Visas in our passport.

Very confused! So all advice greatly appreciated! :confused:

Doing the same trip and our travel agent says no as we are on the cruise. If we had been joining the cruise at Trinadad we would need one. Seems when you pay and get your tickets all that info will be with them.So far seems we only need to get the one for Brazil.I hope this is correct!!!!

Cruisers should be exempt from silly stuff like Visas.

Who the heck is ever jumping ship, anyway??
I can never wait to get back on board my floating,luxury 5 star hotel ;)

Now I'm not sure, Spain does not, but looking on the web for Port of Spain, flight centre advise you do need to apply for a visa, although this is not cruise specific.

Can DFAT help?

Very interesting, this site says that it is illegal to wear camoflage clothing whilst in these countries, unless you are in the military.

Any further update on this. I' on a NZ passport and have the same requirements as an Australian passport holder to Visit Trinidad & Tobago.
