Does anyone have prices for the shore excursions on the Liberty? I'm thinking of going on this cruise next May and want to get an idea of the prices for budgeting and planning purposes.
Thanks!

I'm sailing in October and booked some excursions on line. The good part is, if you book with Carnival, you're paying for your excursions in US dollars and not Euros! The bad part is that they charged my credit card immediately even though I'm months out from my cruise!
Here's what I booked:
Naples: Amalfi Drive and Pompeii (9.5 hours)... $165
Messina, Sicily: Taormina and Mt. Etna (8.5 hours)... $135
Livorno: Florence on Your Own (9.5 hours)... $75
I'm also considering the tour of St. Paul de Vence from Cannes (3.5 hours)... $55.
You can expect prices to be slightly higher next year, probably! This will help you with comparison shopping... remember most of the other tour operators charge in Euros!

We are on the Liberty July 20 sailing. I have all my tours booked and pd with the exception of Cannes, we are going on a private tour with Michel-Revelation Tours. The tours seem a bit pricey but I am traveling with my kids and booking directly with carnival tours gives me a piece af mind and less anxiety. I am leaving for a bit when I get back I'll post the tours and prices for you-Tamara

Thanks for the info. Maybe if I start saving now and prepay some of the excursions it won't hurt so bad!

Interesting differences between Princess and Carnival even though they are owned by the same corporation.
Princess charges under $70 for their Florence on your own tour and your credit card doesn't get charged until you actually take the tour.

Yes, I was QUITE surprised that they charged my card immediately! But I'd rather book now and not risk the tours selling out.

Can anyone else share any more Carnival shore excursion prices? I don't like the $$$ system online. With RCCL they would tell you the going rate for an excursion with the qualifier that the price could change for your specific cruise. It gave you a better idea though. Can anyone else share, are Carnival's shore excursion prices higher than other cruise lines? We are planning to do a lot on our own but there are a few places where we especially wouldn't want to miss the ship (i.e. Naples and Messina) that we might book an excursion. I can't wait to hear some reviews after the first few sailings.

LMNyborg,
I am wondering the same thing. I would maybe e-mail Carnival and ask the prices. I did this for a cruise I was thinking about and they e-mailed me all the excursions/prices for the sailing I was interested in.

If you have a booking number, you can log in and go to excursions and it lists the prices, otherwise you just get the $ signs off of the general excursion menu.

Jody,
I can't remember exactly, but do you need to do the fun pass first? Otherwise that's weird. We booked this cruise for May 19 2006 but don't have a booking number yet. When I get it I'll try and see what comes up.

Try the following: login and click on "My Reservation" your itinerary , ie 12 Day Europe from Civitavecchia (Rome) Italy on (whatever your date is) should come up. It will have day, port of call, arrival, departure and the last column says Shore Excursions. Under Shore Excursions for each of the ports it will either say View Shore Excursions or Add Shore Excursions. If you click on Add Shore Excursions it should take you to the page where you can view all the excursions for that port as well as the amount.
Since your trip is not till next year I'm not sure if the prices will show up or not but try and see what happens. Good luck.

I do think it's too early for next year shore excursion prices to be listed. I'll keep watching for "add shore excursions"!

Thanks everyone for their help. I think it is too early too. I will keep watching for add shore excursions. We are going on the May 19th Liberty cruise as well. I am sure there will be a roll call eventually for this one. I am getting an early start checking on things during the quieter summer months.
I am off on a mission trip with my church today but will check back after we get back in a week.
Thanks.
