OK it seems that several of the private tours take a break for lunch at a local restaurant. We always appreciate partaking of the local fare. Can those of you who have done a private tour that has a lunch stop comment about what type of restaurant you visited. ie: Americanized, touristy, Jamacian food-etc.

thanks

After spending many business trips in MoBay, et. al. The real experience is to go to a Jerk shack (an outdoor open fire restaurtant). Spicy, and different, chicken, pork etc. Local patrons and proprietors may look scary but the hospitality and friendliness is great. Most other tour stops are plain unimaginative food cooked bland to appease the tourist taste. If you like spicy food the Jerk Shack is a good experience. In fact we will be in Ochie on the Century Dec. 5. Looking forward to a good jerk chicken.

Thanks for the replies. You have pretty much confirmed what I suspected. I still think we'll book a private tour (yet to decide who from) and instead of their regular lunch stop, I might ask them to just drop us at a jerk stand that they enjoy eating at, somewhere near the dock.

We had our private tour with Trevor Hudlin and he took us wherever we wanted to go. We asked him to take us to eat local food and he took us to a jerk place. Yummy food! He sat with us a while and made sure our food was great. He also stopped in Fern Gully to have us taste tropical fruits etc.

we have taken a tour with Carolyn Barrett twice. we stopped at Culloden Cafe both times and the food was great! there is even snorkeling available while you wait for lunch to be fixed. I had the crab cakes both times and they were excellent!! both times everyone in our party enjoyed the lunch

Hey, gtlove, we have a tour scheduled with Trevor in August, what would you say is an adequate tip for a family of 5.? We are doing Dunns Falls and Tubing. Also, since I will have kids, ages 21-8 am kind of worried about the drug solicitation, did you have any problems? Thnks for any input
