My review on cabin 1688, Navigator, 4/10

AWESOME!!!!!
If I can't have 1388 or 1688 from now on, it would have to be a suite. We've had other aft cabins, but this was the best! The space was awesome! VERY large cabin and very large balcony. The only negative point is the frickin' pole in the middle of the cabin which obstructs the TV! It wasn't a problem since we really "GOT OUT THERE"!

Hi!
Our cabin had 2 convertible twins and a queen size sleeper sofa. A rollaway would make the cabin a quint, which isn't allowed. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us. Trust me. The kids said the sofa was quite hard, though!

We even enjoyed the rocking and rolling during rough weather!

We didn't even take a camera with us this time... can you beleive that???

Thanks for the review of 1688. Although we don't watch TV from the bed anymore, my husband may while I am getting ready. Anyway around that TV issue? Can it be seen from any part of the bed? How about from the couch or chairs?
Did you have any trouble hitting your head on the balcony pole?
Is the bathroom any larger than normal?

Our itinerary was Nassau on Sunday, St Thomas on Tuesday, and San Juan on Wednesday. Coco cay was a miss on Friday due to rough seas. Actually we had roguh seas all week!

Fof14,
If the beds are converted to a queen size, the pole isn't a problem since it was to the left of the TV. The couch is facing the bed so watching TV from the couch is a no do unless the couch is extended. Then the TV can be turned a little. The chair does face the TV.
The balcony pole is a definite hazard! I hit my head once.
The bathroom was the same size as a standard balcony cabin's bathroom.

Ditto on the balcony pole! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif I hit my head on it (only once) in 2002 (cabin 1688/Explorer) and my Son hit his head on it (also cabin 1688/Explorer) last week! Once you've hit your head on it, you never forget to duck again http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif The pole in the cabin is not a problem at all though! Only one side of the bed is visually disturbed from watching T.V. and all you had to do was scoot over a few inches and you could see just fine. The poles (both of them) are not a big enough problem to keep me from booking the same cabin again and again! We will be in 1688 for the third time, on Adventure in 4/06!

Diane, We were doing Western Caribbean on Explorer while you were on Eastern with Navigator! The seas were rough for us too! Very windy! We didn't make it to Cayman and Cozumel was sooooooooo windy! It didn't deter us from having the greatest vacation on earth though!!!! I was very pleasantly surprised at the improvement of the food on Explorer from the last time we sailed her! No complaints at all! Wish I was still there! I'm still in the middle of a mountain of post-cruise laundry! Blech!

Never got to meet you (missed Meet and mingle) but I think I saw you and your girls at the ice rink on thurs. We were the group of 15 in red tshirts (couldn't miss us at bingo). Those days at sea were considered rough? I didn't think they were that bad! We had a great time, can't wait to go back!
