This will be the 2006 season classical music cruise on the Danube (Passau to Budapest and back). J & I are booked, along with another couple who are friends of ours. Anybody else scheduled?

There really can't be NOBODY else on this cruise? I know it's usually a high percentage of Germans, but we figured there would be more than just the 4 of us who read these boards! Anybody out there??:confused:

Well, still nobody else? I know many Germans speak English -- so much better than my total lack of German! :cool: -- and I've seen a few folks from Germany elsewhere on this board (even giving some tips on questions of interest along the route) so maybe it's just too early? Anybody else going with us and reading this??

Getting closer to late March, departure time for the April 2 cruise. We're starting to close in on luggage and thinking about packing needs and clothes. :) Anybody else coming along?

Hi jgnova (again). We've posted on the river cruise board, but I thought I'd post here in case there was anyone on the Peter Deilmann October 8th music-themed cruise. jgnove, I am waiting to read your April cruise report. Did you buy the whole package of shore excursions including the operas?

Hi, Judith. Yes, we got the package of music-related excursions and we're definitely looking forward to it. We figure that's why we booked the classical music cruise, so it's probably what we would want to get to see anyhow. Budapest is 3 Bartok operas that evening, if I've got the right "fix" on what we'll hear there.

If you would please, if you hear what they will have for the October 8th cruise, please let me know. Everything specific is still to be announced for Vienna and Budapest. They have added a music-themed cruise through France on the Cezanne. If we enjoy this one, we'll do that one next year.

I'm really surprised that with all the people who read cruise critic, we can't find anyone else on the Mozart's three music cruises. I'd also like to find someone who is taking the September music themed cruise on the Cezanne through France. We are thinking of that one for next year if we enjoy river boating. Judith

J talked to the US Deilmann rep late last week and she couldn't tell him what opera is planned for Budapest yet. I'm still hoping it's what I found on line, but . . . . we shall see. If it isn't the Bartok three, and if there are still tix, we might go ahead and do that on our own. And yes, of course, we'll post as soon as we get back.

As soon as we got back, I posted a short note (not a detailed review) on the river cruises board to supplement Steamboats' review (she linked to it on an earlier posting on that board, I think) and answer a few specific questions from aagra (who's there now), and today J started posting his review. (Of course, I looked at it before it was posted. :rolleyes: ) If you have specific questions or comments, post over there and he'll try to respond.

Dear JGNova -- Did you enjoy your cruise? I would love to hear about it; we're leaving Sept. 3 for a week. It's not a music cruise, but it is our first Barge cruise.

I would appreciate any information you may have -- I feel like a newby!
