port of Miami car rental

Our flight home is later in the day. was thinking of renting a car for the day to allow us to load our luggage, drive around Miami without taking cabs, and have lunch in South Beach before heading to the airport.

are there car rental agency shuttles at the Miami pier after the cruises? do they shuttle you to their airport location to rent the car? Was hoping to drop it off at the same place and take their shuttle to the airport.

can you do this?

For the Port of Miami the rental car companies use their MIA airport locations. Many (but not all) will shuttle you to/from the port. Otherwise cab fare between the port and MIA is a flat rate of $21.

Just got terrific rate on an Alamo rental from Port of Miami. They do shuttle you to the Airport location to pick up the car, but the rate was better than booking at the airport. Use their location locator to specify this rental location at www.alamo.com

I just made a reservation for a client coming off an NCL cruise. He will be picked up at the pier. All his has to do is call an hour before he wants the car to be there. Enterprise will pick him up and drive him to the office to fill out the paper work and he can drop the car off at the airport when he leaves. Nice and easy for a family with three small children after a week long family reunion!

Are there rental car companies that you can rent from the Airport and drop it off at the port of Miami? If so which ones?

Some will shuttle you to POM, but there are NO car rental agencies at POM; Hertz and Avis have downtown Miami locations that are close ($10 cab ride) to POM. Good luck! :)
