View Full Version : potential problem with cruise docs - stateroom

Hello everyone - my initial excitement over receiving our cruise docs has been overshadowed. On the tix, under our stateroom - it states "GTY" as well as on the luggage tags. The only problem is that we booked a BE gty. This is our first time on NCL so someone tell me if I am getting worried over nothing. On our past cruises it listed the stateroom category with the guarantee designation. Do all guarantee levels on NCL simply list GTY as room number or should I try to get in touch with my unbelievably-hard-to-get-in-touch-with-never-calls-me-back TA?

Thanks for the response Mikey. To clarify a bit better, I am not concerned about not having a stateroom yet but rather that I will be assigned in a category lower than "BE" since the cruise tickets simply list "GTY" instead of "BE GTY"

Don't worry be happy
On my last three cruises I booked BE GTY. The tickets all stated GTY. If you want to feel better you can always call NCL to se if a cabin as been assigned. I know it's hard to believe if you follow the posts of a handful of members here but NCL customer service will help you.

I tend to think you're ok too. The GTY on the luggage tag is likely so the luggage folks know to check and find out what room you are in. If you're really concerned, give your travel agent a call.

Thanks. It is easy to get concerned when each cruise line does things differently. Like I said earlier - last year my cruise tickets listed "BA GTY." I already called - no room yet. As long as they don't tell me at the pier that I don't have a balcony everything will be great!

I too booked a minisuite guarantee. Got my tix last weekend and they only say gty. I am not worried as my initial docs said mini guarantee. As of two days ago no room yet....

Thanks Docswiffy - that is exactly what i wanted to hear. I do have my receipt from the TA that states BE gty.
I guess I will find out in a little over 3 weeks!

We booked a GTY room, not a mini suite, and we got assigned a room number right away. This was probably 2 months ago. Someone else I met here on the boards that is going on the same ship and also booked a GTY room got assigned and upgraded about two weeks ago. I was just kind of curious how all of this works. I should state that we did tell our agent that I am very prone to seasickness. Would that have made the difference? We were assigned midship.
