I have heard there are bike tours, plantation tours.

Some all inclusive resorts in ocho rios sell day pass for cruisers. You can use the resort's beach, pool and eat at their restaurants. Just email the resort directly and they will give you their rates. We have never done this but it sounds interesting.

We did a day tour that included a stop at Dunns river falls- you do not need a guide to walk the falls- actually I think it is better without a guide because you go at your own pace and not worry about holding hands and one person falling and pulling the others down! We also went river rafting on handmade bamboo rafts- a lot of fun- you sit on a wooden bench while the guide sings reggae and uses a pole to guide the raft. Then we did a nature tour, drove through fern gully and then a stop at the Crafts market (I would skip the market- very aggressive sales people) We also stopped for jerk chicken and then had a little bit of time to shop at the shops at the ship pier( the best shops- great tourist items, reasonable prices and no aggressive sales people!) We used a friend of a friend of ours in the US- he is a private guide- Phillip Kongal- he drove down from Negril to meet us- he rented a nice van and took us around. He met us right outside the ship pier. He let us decide what we wanted to do- we had him for the whole day. His cell phone in Jamaica is 876 871-2366. We saved a lot of money by using Phillip and his private tour company instead of the ship.

I have heard only great things about phil lafayette. We are using him in March for his dunn river falls/ river tubing tour (very cheap). Here is his website http://www.phil-lafayette-tours.com/ Check it out!

I highly recommend Phil Lafayette. What a tour and what a guy. You will love it. After going with Phil you will feel that you have gained a new friend. See this other thread on his tours.

I never asked about a shuttle service. You would need to contact each resort directly.
