Where in the World is John Lawrence (CD)?

We will be on the April 14 Diamond 28 day SYD/SFO and was told to expect John Lawrence as the CD on our long sailing!

We last sailed with John on the Regal 2003 - 30-Day 'Mystery' cruise May 2003. (One of our 'not to be forgotten' cruise experiences :p )

John was the consumate CD, we look forward to sailing with him again.

Anyone know where John Lawrence is now? :confused:

Hello,
That was some cruise wasn't it, I don't think that I'll forget it in a hurry. I am on leave at the moment, but will be joining the Diamond on Feb 13th and leaving again on April 2nd, and then on to the Star in May for the Baltic season.

Hi Renee, how are you. The "Mystery Cruise" was one of the best as was John Lawrence. I've been told that he is semi-retired and only works on the summer Baltic cruises as CD and lecturer, as he is an authority on that part of the world. Hope to cruise with you again soon.

Dee & John (Dorinda) messaged from Australia - they are onboard the Diamond - Dee assurred me that John Lawrence would still be onboard when we embark (April 14) although Princess said we should look forward to Dan Gibbons! Guess this is one time the Princess Rep. was correct!

After the Diamond, we're on HAL Zandam to Alaska with our kids.

Couldn't find a cruise itinerary we liked for Summer/Fall 2006 - decided to try 4 weeks of total decadence at Ixtaphan Resort and Spa.

Still very disappointed that Princess cancelled interesting itineraries on the little Pacific Princess for Fall/Winter 2006/2007 :( ....We had 3 booked back to back (Fort Lauderdale to Capetown to Singapore - plus 2 others to South America. Princess cancelled all those itineraries when she 'gave up' the Pacific Princess.
I'm SO not happy the Pacific and the Tahitian will be soon gone..... leaving only huge ships with so very ordinary (been there done that) itineraries!
I think perhaps it's 'time for a change' from the Princess (extended) cruise habit!
Maybe just the occasional short 'fill in' cruise leaving from our area.:rolleyes:

We are booked on the Sapphire for April 2007 - SYD to LAX - nothing different for us - but a nice long sail with lots of sea days - just what we like! :p

Good to hear you'll be with us on Diamond Princess March 9. My mom and I have enjoyed sailing with you in both the Baltics and Hawaii. Take care and see you aboard.

John will be on the Star for this coming baltic season. I e-mailed him after ordering his DVD on the baltic ports in preparation for our 6/14 cruise and he confirmed he would be on board.

By the way, the DVD is an excellent preparation tool and I highly recommend it! :)

We had the pleasure of having John as our cd in 2004 on our Baltic cruise. For those who are in the Baltic this year be sure to watch John's port guides on your in-cabin tv. They are IMHO essential viewing. John is also a true gentleman.

I cruised twice with John as CD and I still have the most pleasant memories of him doing his own show during the 30 day cruise on the Regal. He was the discovery of the cruise as a singer and entertainer.

We are fortunate to be on the Feb. 13 sailing of the Diamond with John. We also had the pleasure of hearing his wonderful port lectures while on a Crown Princess Baltic Cruise in July 2001. I hope John has some "Down Under" knowledge to make this cruise even better than we are anticipating.
