We are going to be on the Jewel 10/31 on a repositioning cruise. We have cruised RCCL before and love the Grandeur. We have not been on the Jewel. Would love to hear from anyone who has been on this ship and what did you like or dislike about it. We like the smaller ships. Sailed the Adventurer and we feel this size ship is too big for us. Thanks for your reply.

You will love the Jewel she does not feel that much bigger than the Vision class but she is sooo beautiful. I´ve been on her three times now and the fourth cruise is booked for September. On my website(see link in the signature) there are many pics and three trip reviews about my cruises on the Jewel.
If you have any specific qustion I´m happy to answer.

The Jewel is beautiful and I cannot think of one negative thing to say. It is my favorite ship so far.
Enjoy your cruise,

We are scheduled on the Jewel in Mid March for the 8 day out of Lauderdale. I have seen recent reviews by folks that were terribly disappointed, especially the last 2 members that reviewed December cruises. As you can see by my signature we usually sail Carnival and this is a switch for us. Hope we aren't disappointed but the recent reviews I read make me nervous as what to expect. They were especially critical of the dining experience. By the way any tips on excursions on this ship for the western carib.

We've done the last 2 sailing on the Jewel, from Boston to Ft. Laud and it was the best. 12 nights was perfect as was the ship! Each time we had a D-! cat and it was marvelous!
Feb, we're trying out the Grandeur. Can you tell me about that ship?

The Jewel is a beautiful ship very much on par with the Millenium in terms of elegant decor. The activities are there for the family and the balconies on the hump (we had 8088 and 8086) were super. Soundproofing was phenomenal. The food, especially the appetizers, was very good to excellent. The service is comfortably formal (no scrapping crumbs, but plates get switched and silverware adjusted as the meal proceeds). Staff was quite friendly throughout the ship. Very few loudspeaker announcements.
Western Car. excursions: Not to be missed--stingray city in GC (unless you're a diver...then dive, of course) and David and Ivan's ruin's tour in Costa Maya (see port boards for more info). You must not miss their tour--it was so informative and a lovely walk. In Belize do the jungle walk/ cave tubing--really a fun activity.
Have no fears about the Jewel!
Enjoy your cruise

You will love the Jewel. Previously, Grandeur was my favorite (still a close second), but the Jewel is my new favorite since our December cruise. We, too, have sailed the Adventure (and Explorer) and find that class too large. The Jewel has more of the amenities, but doesn't feel huge. Have a wonderful time!

We were on the Jewel last February. It was so awesome. I loved the ship. It was very elegant. You must try the made to order crepes in the Solarium in the afternoon. I think they are unique to the Jewel. We took our two sons 16 and 12 - they loved it.

Grandure was our first RCCL ship and we havn't looked back. The Jewel is a wonderful ship and I like this layout the best. We also did the Boston repo last fall with some of these people who are posting. We sailed Serenade which is almost identical for 16 days in O3. We are looking forward to 14 days on Radiance to Hawaii in May with our kids
YOu will love it

Jewel is the most beautiful ship we've ever sailed. Just got off TODAY. We've been on 3 Celebrity ships, including Millennium(which was our previous favorite) but Jewel was far superior in nearly all ways.(Well, the Olympic Specialty Restaurant on Millie is still the best but Chops Grill was GREAT too) We've already rebooked for this December. Service in the dining room was equal to Celebrity's and the food has improved over our last RCCL cruise. Also it only took us 10 minutes to board.
This was a wonderful cruise, I would highly recommend it to anyone.
If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer.

We have previously cruised on her sister ship the Radiance and going on the Jewel in a month. If she is anything like the Radiance, I know she is, you will love it. We were on Celebrity Summit last August and the Radiance Class of ships are more gorgeous than the Celebrity Millenium class. Enjoy.

We are really big fans of Radiance class ships and have sailed on all of them except the Serenade of the Seas. Our next cruise on the Jewel will be our fourth on that particular ship and she is really our favorite, although Brilliance and Radiance are close behind. As someone else has mentioned, the crepes in the Solarium are to die for and seem to be offered only on this ship.
We have sailed out of Boston on the Jewel twice and last August we did the transatlantic from Harwich to Boston. Everything about her is top notch including her captains (Captains James and Captain Tor) and her crew.

We've been on 3 Radiance class ships (not the Brilliance) and the Jewel is my favorite, although I have to say they are all spectacular. Did the Canada/NE cruise in Sept. 04, and have been dying to get back on her. I will be on your repositioning cruise this Halloween and can't wait! I found the service to be excellent and the food was wonderful, but then I love anything I didn't have to prepare.
I hope you have signed up for the M&M on our cruise. It looks like it's going to be a good one, if everyone shows up. This is the most people I've seen signed up for a cruise I've been on. We couldn't even get 25 to sign up for our Alaska cruise on the Serenade.
