I was just in Cabo for a week the beginning of February. If my taxi driver was correct, the "Cabo Dolphins" is a giant gray cement 'thing' located by the Marina. It is shaped like a ship and the taxi driver said the dolphins will be the middle. I know there are people who don't like the 'swimming with dolphins' experiences as they feel it is harmful to the dolphins. My family swam with the dolphins in Tortola in a large natural cove, with simply a net to keep the dolphins in the cove area. This 'tank' in Cabo, appeared to be just that, a 'tank' like you see at an older aquarium. If someone does go to CaboDolphins and finds a different experience, please let me know. The tank didn't look large enough for even 2 dolphins.

I called Dolphins Cabo and they are opening this week. They said that Carnival has bought up all the spaces for cabo and Puerto Vallarta the days the ship is in. So it looks like you have to book with them if you want a swim. I think we will give cabo a try.

Vallarta Adventures is running the dolphins in Cabo too, so the activity will be very similar to the activity in Puerto Vallarta - only costing $165.00 off-ship instead of $115.00. Something to think about...

Johann...do they offer the Trainer for a Day program as in PV? Thanks LuAnn

Not yet, but expect it to come before long. The Trainer for a Day is hard for most cruisers to do because it takes 7 hours, and the hotel guest volume in Cabo isn't nearly that of Puerto Vallarta yet, though it's growing rapidly, so they're testing the waters I think.

I didn't see the dolphin swim in Cabo on the Vallarta Adventure website. Am I just missing it?

Any other options to do a longer day with more interaction? Perhaps a "personalized tour"? Really want to do it...but 30 minutes just doesn't cut it after my Trainer for a day in PV...LuAnn

www.cabodolphins.com (http://www.cabodolphins.com) - expect the same quality program and the same rules about no booking directly outside the cruise ship as Vallarta Adventures in Puerto Vallarta.

I believe at this time, they're only doing the one choice - it's brand spanking new, so they may not even have had time to train the dolphins for the longer programs yet - just trying to make some $$ while the training continues, I would imagine.

My recommendation, LuAnn, since you've already done all the programs in Puerto Vallarta, would be to save your money and do one of the other great activities in Cabo. The snorkeling there is supposed to be a bit better than Puerto Vallarta.

This won't add anything new for you, and a 30 minute program will obviously pale in comparison to what you did in Puerto Vallarta for 7 hours. It's also three times the price of the 30 minute program in PV.

Well, we've not snorkeled there either, but I've been told that Santa Maria and Chileno are supposed to be the best places to snorkel in Cabo.

Update: They now offer the Trainer for a Day program in Cabo for $299.00.

Quite a jump from the $225.00 it costs in Puerto Vallarta, but at least they have it.
